Their anny quads aren't really a drastically different style, and are always stellar. They're some of my highest rated stuff, so it's no wonder OP is great too. That said, most people just haven't graduated to the loftiest heights of beer geekdom to truly appreciate the style. Baby palates :stuck_out_tongue:

Ridiculous attitude. I’ve now had the Congnac and the Rye versions - both are amazing. Of course, I always wish people would just buy less of all Kane’s beer so they would last longer.

I still have one bottle left from 2016 curious to see where it’s gone. Always hard to decide when to open the last of what you have.

I haven’t tried anything I bought yet, still getting over a cold so I can barely taste anything. Sucks when I have a bunch of tasty beers I want to drink. Cognac will be the first one I try.

Ha I used to cellar certain things for years and would come close to agonizing over when to have the last of something. One day I just said fuck it and now I just work my through the “cellar-able” beers without feeling I need to save them for special occasions. Plus, places like Kane are constantly cranking out big beers to replace the ones I drink.

I’ve done the same @Mrstiffington that is the only straggler I have left that has any age on it. And an old parabola bottle.

Lambic (and some straggling 120s lol) is the only thing I'll intentionally put years on anymore, everything else is just in line to being drank.

So I gave up on cellaring. Mostly because I just get down to the end of my supply and just go for it. But also---I don't get any greater enjoyment by waiting. My memory is poor, and my palate is basic, so I cannot really compare the old with the new.

Kane’s new pale Ghost Rainbow may be the best new hoppy beer I’ve had from them in quite a while, in my opinion. Alot of stuff as been rather more the same for me as of late, but Im really enjoying this one.

Nice to hear. I’m not always blown away by Kane’s ipa releases (although their core 3 are stellar) but I did like the Strata quite a bit.

Edit: just saw the IG post for tomorrow. Of course the barrel aged beer sounds great. Black Tie Optional, not so much to me at least. I really do love Kane (#1 for me in NJ) but damn, enough with the fruit, lactose and vanilla in IPAs already. Especially vanilla.

Black Tie Optional was fine last year, I thought. I don’t really like Brut IPA as a style but I thought they killed it. It was like a mimosa/Bellini kinda thing. A good brunch beer. I really don’t get the purpose of adding ‘tose & vanilla and charging $20 a 4-pack other than to please the OH crowd that rushes to Kane for the ANTEAD releases (and honestly those kinda folks probably aren’t even looking for this kind of stuff from Kane).

I just hope they don’t fuck up Port Omna this year like they did last year. No need for pastry stouts, just give me a good Irish Dry stout. The variants were fun until they started cranking up the abv to 9% or whatever

Agree @tzieser they certainly have become more other half (or any other line life place) over the past few years. I’m not happy about it or many of these styles either but...the positive the income from it may be responsible for the ease of getting the regulars all over NJ now. Which I think are their best beers by far.

Man they announced it close to opening so those who were already there or close got really lucky. They probably made it before the masses descended. I’d love to try that ANTEAD. Had been on the fence about going too, but wasn’t into the new Black Tie. Would also love to try those samples.

Just got here. They just wheeled out 6 antead cases. Not sure if that’s what’s left?

Agreed. 2017 OP was one of the first barleywines I'd ever had, but the dark fruit flavors just blew me away. With all the other beers I've had since, it remains at or near the top of my list. I haven't had the courage to open one of my 2 remaining knowing it will be one less I have! I wasn't able to get down for this years release either.

Give the quads a try, as the dark fruit layering is (more) tactical

So I left late (around 12:20-30) from east brunswick expecting the ANTEAD to be sold out. I was quite pleasantly surprised that I was able to get 2 bottles around 1:10 when I got there.

2018 ANTEAD that was on tap was really fucking good btw.

I also picked up Tomorrow is Already here + Rainbow Ghost.

Tomorrow is slightly on the sweeter /thin side but good. RG if actually pretty hefty (in a good way) for a pale ale. Maybe I should have picked up another 4 pack of it.
    .

Also picked up a bottle of picture in reverse and that sorta blew me away for a brown ale. I might just go back to pick up few more.

    Another Edit:

Had 2922 for my bday last week and it was a panty dropper.
