Congrats to all who scored a Double Barrel Maple ANTEAD. Looking forward to what comes in 2020!

    Kane Brewing: http://www.kanebrewing.com/

Address: 1750 Bloomsbury Ave, Ocean Township, NJ 07712
We are located behind the Ocean Plaza Shopping Center off Route 35.

Tap Room Hours: Thursday: 5 pm to 8 pm, Friday: 5 pm to 8 pm, Saturday: 12 pm to 7 pm, Sunday: 12 pm to 5 pm (as of 9/1/18)

Tours: THURS & FRI SELF GUIDED TOURS
SAT & SUN GUIDED TOURS HOURLY STARTING 1PM
    NO RESERVATIONS REQUIRED

They DO NOT allow any tour buses, limousines, party groups, bachelor or bachelorette parties, etc. in the brewery for tours and tastings. We have limited space and do not have the staff to handle large unexpected groups even with a prior reservation.

Current Tap List: Facebook is updated before retail hours with current Tap List. Year round beers includes Head High, Overhead and Single Finn.

Growler Fills: Beer prices vary depending on style but range from $7-$20+. The cost of the growler is an additional $10 for one-liter, and $12 for two-liter. Yes, Kane fills growlers from other breweries as long as it has a government warning, labeled volume, and a Kane Brewing Co. sticker can be applied for regulatory compliance.

Can and Bottles Sales: Limited release 750ml bottles for sale at the brewery as well as cans. Check Facebook (must have Facebook account), Twitter, or Instagram for up to date list. Solitude, our 9.2% Belgian-style dark strong ale, will now be available at the brewery in 750ml bottles on an (almost) year-round basis.

They offer a few varieties of their beer to be purchased in sixtel (5.2 gallon kegs). Kane no longer requires a $30 keg deposit. They use entirely disposable plastic kegs that you can just put out with your recycling. http://www.kanebrewing.com/retail-keg-request/

Nice pics on their instagram feed: https://www.instagram.com/kanebrewing/

Kane Gear: Kane branded growlers, glasses, hats and t-shirts are available in the tap room. They also have an online store at https://squareup.com/market/kanebrewing

Kids and Dogs: Minors are welcome as long as they are accompanied by a parent or guardian. No pets.

Need an edit. Kane no longer requires a $30 keg deposit. They use entirely disposable plastic kegs that you can just put out with your recycling (and which I hate for many reasons).

So did anyone actually open the new ANTEAD yet? Jealous of not trying it but how is it? Too sweet, just right amount of sweetness...?

I've heard the typical "not as good as last batch" and "not enough maple" comments amidst generally positive reviews. I think people need to go in expecting the maple to be subtle. This isn't Morning Bell where they add adjuncts by brewing a pot of coffee and pouring in a little beer. It merely spent time in a maple barrel, it's going to be subtle. Hope to try it sometime, I'd be more excited about the barrel character of this one than the maple personally.

Interested in any firsthand experience though, too.

Interested to see if people think they used the '17 or '18 as base. People are unfairly harsh with the '18 but the '17 was possibly the best base they have ever done in my opinion. Missed out on bottles so hoping to try on tap.

Hollow Sea, our new 5.5% Czech-style Dark Lager, will be on tap today during our tour and tasting room hours of 5pm – 8pm. Hollow Sea, inspired by the famous Tmavé Pivo from the Czech Republic, was brewed with Weyermann Floor Malted Bohemian Pilsner and Dark Munich base malts, @rabbit_hill_malthouse Chit malt, and a blend of Weyermann caramel and dark malts. Like a traditional Tmavé Pivo, we used the decoction mashing method and hopped exclusively with Czech Saaz all throughout the boil and again in the whirlpool. The result is an exceptionally smooth and drinkable lager with the chocolate and coffee character of an English Porter. Perfect for these long winter nights on the coast.

Kane with BA Brunch 2 weeks out. High limited at 4 sets pp.

Would love to hear the logic behind:
    1. why post 2 weeks out
    2. switch away from online sales
    3. high limits

IMO this is basically causing a shitshow that you would think they have been avoiding all along.

AP beer fest is also that weekend.

This is going to be chaos. I wonder how many people who complain about EB will be waiting in this massive line.

How long into that day till it drops to 1 set? It's too much money for me to want to make the drive. No matter how they release things it'll be good for some, bad for others. But this...I feel like just promotes a line and crowds that may not even be needed.

Let's say they made a ton and it still makes it to later in the day. This method of announcing will cause many more people to come early and create a long line for nothing (possibly). Will that many people really drop 240$ on 12 bottles? Reality check: 80$ four pack of 16 oz cans volume wise.

A surprising amount will between traders and mules. It's not ANTEAD but still a very sought after beer.

I won't be showing up to this release, but I will definitely be showing up online in the days afterward to glance through the wreckage.
