Yeah I don't get Source either - but I've learned that their paid "members" get early opportunity to buy before the release on Friday mornings. They've also been distributing some to bars and retailers lately too (bottle kings, places like Cloverleaf, Chubby Pickle, and even south jersey), so by the time it hits the beer broadcast there is less available. If I had to guess they do maybe 150-200 cases? Assuming they have good amount more capacity than say Twin Elephant who generally does 80-125ish cases.

I'm drinking a Mexican Dessert now. Not getting any pepper, but the graham cracker and coconut is really shining. Another winner from Kana IMO.

It really is great. Kane can’t miss when coconut is involved. Wishing I got more than 1.

edit: did anyone notice sediment in theirs? It almost looks like pieces of coconut in there.

Ive been saying this for a while. Most of my favorite beers from Kane involve coconut. They just do it really damn well.
Now Im even more excited to try this. May have to happen tonight

I picked up a 4 of the Waimea Pro today along with my MB set. I though Waimea was very good. I like to rate on not only the flavor profile, but the drink ability in relation to the style, if that is such a thing. I’m glad to hear that the MB is living up to expectations as well!

No sediment but damn tasty. Much more pastry than Mexican brunch from previous years. Looking forward to this year's brunch.

Since we’re on the brunch beers, I guess throw morning bell in there too. Anyone feel the caffeine affects them at all? There is caffeine in there. How much sure your can google search and get ranges but I guess we don’t know the exact number in these beers. I think it would be interesting to know.

I've had Sunday Brunch and it didn't affect me, whereas other coffee beers keep me up at night, to the point that I generally avoid them. Would be nice to have a "Caffeine by Volume" but the only time I've ever seen caffeine labeled was on a Four Loko.

Had one last night really enjoyed it a lot. The ratings on untappd, as someone said, are low, but I don't put stock into them unless its my friends ratings.
I feel like Source has to be closer to the TE amount of cases than 200ish.

give me back OG coconut port omna!
my buddy is highly sensitive to caffeine and he tried sunday brunch on tap (handful of years back) me forgetting about the caffeine thing and buying it for him, 20 or so mins later he was like theres coffee in this isnt there I can feel it. So I think if you're highly sensitive you may feel it a bit

Yeah you can see too, from what I've been told, that the milkshakes and "special DIPAs" (as opposed to single silo/hop series ones) sell out faster. Given the short window I don't think people are online ordering just the one. My guess is members are more likely to buy more of the milkshake or that whip one this last week, unless yield is radically different. But scarcity breeds higher ratings. Kane is too available to get monster ratings (in fairness I don't think their NEIPAs are amazing, but I think they often deserve a slight bump when you see the gap between them and source for example). Heck even sources core beer is only a 4 on Untappd, well below say party wave or wrench as benchmarks. Probably in part because it's not so exclusive and goes out to stores and restaurants sometimes.

In my honest beer drinking opinion Source of Hoppiness is an avg at best beer. I just don’t get a ton of flavor out of it and for $18 give me something from Kane like Head High or Party Wave or SBX or something from Brooklyn when I’m there

Mexican Dessert is absolutely delicious. Seemed like more body than an average brunch/bell and chocolate was on par with morning mocha or SNL/LBH. I really enjoyed it. Have not cracked a brunch yet.

I would say this beer is not going to get any better with age. But then again i am a bad influence.

    tried both earlier this week..

MB - was very good, but IMO was very cinnamon forward. I got very little pepper and other flavors.

MD - wow was this good, got the graham cracker and some notes of coconut but this flavors came together perfectly. really stood out as excellent for me

if I do have this socially distanced share with a few buddies I think one of them had been saving a coconut crown for us to all drink, so I might sit on the MD and open just the MB with them. Don't want to coconut overload ha

so I'm having my 1st source of hoppiness now, happened to see today's release in Bottle King (so much for quick sell out on Beer Broadcast ) and agree, this pretty pedestrian. I'd take head high all day over it. It's nice, but very light on flavor, and even mouthfeel for the ABV.

Every day I check for this, I’m not lying sadly...finally. Rejoice and hope that I can still order for delivery on Thursday. If not I’ll be a sad man. Kanes best beer, only after head high. Cheers people.
