Kane Brewing (2020)

So just an inquiry about Wax Comb. It leaves this interesting taste /residue on my lips, just like a lip balm does. If this is done on purpose, hence the name wax, does anybody know what creates this interesting artifact?

 

wax comb is in reference to a wax comb you use to remove wax from a surfboard (keeping in line with all of their surf-themed beers..head high, overhead, etc).

can’t speak in regards to the beer itself. I haven’t tried it

 

With Kane being closed yesterday, does that push ANTEAD pickups to a day later now? My final shot at getting any is when they release the extra bottles

 

Yes, they extended the pick up window through Sunday, 12/6.

Yeah I don't imagine you'll be able to readily. I suppose some people could only possibly go this past Sunday, but with another weekend to work with, and proxies, long odds. Never know I guess? But yeah won't be until Monday next week at earliest.

Well yes, I guess I should specify. The question is do they sell them or cellar them for now? I'm sure they have something left over even if everyone picks up their order. Good luck to anyone able to make the trip and roll the dice they will, since I don't think they advertised such things in the past. Which to be fair, is good for local fans to have a better chance, so I wouldn't begrudge that.

 

If i were to guess there will be extras as i am sure there were not exactly the same number of each variant. While they may wait until the day after pickup ends it could be before or after that as well. I would keep your eyes peeled when they reopen.

 

Anyone have Lunchbox Hero or Cookie Jar Superstar yet? I'm bummed I've been missing out on all the canned stouts and porters like Evening Bell and Through the Empty Space and am curious how sweet the two new bottles stouts are.

 

I will be there every day at opening until they are released.

 

I grabbed both but haven't opened them yet, probably this weekend. Lunchbox Hero last year wasn't overly sweet from what I remember.

 

Shoot me a pm as i work up the street when they do. Today they had bottles of malus and ba evening bell that was not posted so a silent release is not outside of the realm of possibility.

Well I know I'd appreciate it. Even the chance to just get base ANTEAD would be great. Not the most flexible schedule with health care but COVID is making for oddball cancellations. Anyway, did you go today and get any DDH HH? Considering a trip this weekend and interested if anyone has tried this batch.

This ddh Hh is really good. Juicy nose. Hazier appearance than base. Big galaxy bitter finish. Grassy after taste.

 

I second everything you said. I got a lot of Nelson flavor up front, which I like, along with some other fruity flavors. I haven't had the Nectaron hop before but I definitely like it in DDH Head High.
