generally speaking MB is the beer they would announce the night before, and the last few years you could walk up to almost no line after like 1:30-2PM.

Normally I’d be all over the bottles not being in sets but at the same time I feel that’s when the queues get backed up as people are getting different amounts slowing down both the payment and packing process. Fingers crossed though.

It seems like you should be okay to show up later in the afternoon without a bunch of hoopla, but YMMV

doubtful. Morning Bell never had the hype as SB, MB, and of course ANTEAD. Which is why it's generally always been a preannounced released.

I plan on strolling in around 5PM and snagging MB no problems.

In the old days I think they used to announce the day before so Rook could talk to their customers about it, as well. I could see the variants going quicker, but even when they originally did morning bean the first time it stuck for a bit. I assume these last till at minimum Sunday early on, which would be nice b/c that is when I will be there

I’m kinda surprised Morning Bell hasn’t been canned yet....but then again bottles always go for more $$$ so I guess it’s in their best business interest.

I remember trying morning bean on tap locally (last year?). The only thing I remember it was astringent and artificial tasting on the vanilla, very off putting. I'm sure they used real beans but I remember being very glad I didn't go up and buy bottles after I tried it on tap. Maybe bad tap lines, keg, who knows. Did anyone else feel this way about morning bean?

I felt underwhelmed by Morning Bean when it first came out (I think that was 2018) and that it didnt taste as good as the random times they had put Morning Bell w/vanilla on tap, but I didnt get an artificial taste from it

I don’t recall specifically but I almost always have a negative reaction when vanilla is used and especially when it’s a big part of the taste. It always seems artificial to me, whether is is or not.

I agree with this as well. Especially when evening bell went for $4.50 a can and morning bell in bottles is twice the price by volume. I will never say morning bell is too expensive but i would love cheaper cans.

Vanilla is such a hard adjunct to pull off correct. The strong flavor profile often makes it seem artificial, even when real beans are used. It’s best used in small quantities and works best with roasty/malty beers. When you add it a sweet and/or under attenuated beer, it usually doesn’t work out well. I’ve never had Morning Bell so I’m not sure of its flavor profile.

Even 2014 BCBS Vanilla Rye, which is one of my favorite beers of all time, seemed slightly artificial the first few sips. Once it warmed up that subsided.

I had a tough time getting through the morning bean I got last year as well. I'm probably going to skip altogether though. I can't keep up with all these releases, need to drink more of what I already have.

i got the same feel from Morning Bean as some of you... as I love Morning Bell the Vanilla was off putting to me.
My plans changed so i can not go later in the day....I can swing by around 10:15; am i the only one thinking I am going at the worst time with a slow line and looking at a 45ish minute wait

After I saw they were going to start selling at 10am it killed my hopes the mocha will last until Sunday. Maybe I can get someone to hook me up or it will show up on tap. If they are going to start selling more often at 10am, why not just fully open at that time?

    A few takeaways here.

    1. VH is back in bottles. Last 2 years it was in cans at $20/4pk aka $5 per 16oz. Last year was under 10% but the year before was over 10%. So kinda confused as to why we're looking at an $8 bottle. I get glass is expensive but does bottling VH really justify a $3 increase for less than an oz more? Also what's the point of bottles then 2 years of cans then back to bottles
    2. Partywave is STILL around? It'll be 3 weeks tomorrow
    3. That ANTEAD sounds amazing.

Man am I bummed. Look forward to Vengeful Heart every year. Traditionally 750 mL bottles for maybe $12 I think. Last year or the year before they went to four pack cans for maybe $20. Now it’s moved to 500 mL bottles for $8. That’s like going from $20 four pack to $32. Not good.

Edit: the post above was posted while I was typing so it looks like I’m not the only one here.

Personally didn't get a lot of strawberry in that ANTEAD variant, out of the bottle at least. It kind of sweetened, sharpened, and maybe thinned it out a little but did not contribute a lot of actual strawberry character. Hopefully draft is different.
