When did Kane stop having Friday tasting room hours? I could really go for one today if I go to pick up Double Head High

Seems like since they shifted back into the taproom from outside its been only Sat & Sun, maybe due to staffing shortages? That's only me speculating though. I ran over to grab cans early and def would have grabbed a pour if they were open too

I’ve been there twice lately Saturday afternoons (once in Dec and once in Jan) and it wasn’t that busy. That being said, Friday after work also seems like a reasonable time to be open.

Yeah the last time I went was pre holidays on a Sat afternoon and it was pretty crowded, but people were probably out and about shopping and such. I used to love shooting down after work on a Friday pre-covid and now working from home I could get there so quick ha

So many tasty BA options today. My buddies and I bought way more than we expected to take home. So many great bottle options at Kane right now. I only bought two four packs of cans. The rest were bottles. Kane is killing it.

Judging from the time you posted this we may have been there at the same time yesterday. Was more crowded than I thought. Grabbed a few Morning Bell, prob crack into them tonight. I tried both the Nelson Small Batch IPAs and they were both really good, #2 was better IMO but both great expressions of Nelson

Yup I had both of those as well and also liked #2 better, although one of my friends liked #1 better. We also went to a party last night and he and I split this year’s Vengeful Heart, which is amazing, and Field and Oak Chambourcin, which is as also really good.

I wanted to get Vengeful Heart but I have too many bottles already. At least with Morning Bell its sub 10% so I can just drink it myself, I think this years Vengeful Heart is over 15% right? I want to drink some bottles I have first but with you and a few of my friends saying how good this years is I might just have to get it any way

For the price point of 14$ is is astounding. Definitely not the OG vengeful heart though.

I probably bought one too many Morning Bell bottles because the price point is so good. If I am being totally honest I will prob still buy another once I drink the ones I have because I love that beer so much ha, but the $9/bottle def makes it easier to do so

I was also there on Saturday. Is it just me are Kane’s ipas (not including the regulars) all leaning toward the sweet side lately?

Hmm, Cosmic Effect was a bit sweeter I remember, the only other new canned IPA I had was Double HH which was right what I thought it was.

I’m not sure if I noted the sweetness level but it has been reinforced in my last few visits that the lagers and stouts/porters/barleywines and BA versions of all really eclipse their hoppy stuff. With a few exceptions such as Epic Party wave and the Ripple and Sneak variants, their rotating IPAs are not as good as their year round IPAs.

The recent DDH HH and the Nelson small batch from this weekend were probably the most sweet I’ve gotten recently. Kind of a similar note that I see people describing as melon (although I never really get melon as much as a generic sweetness.) Like some of the OH ipas from the last year or so, and basically any EQ Ipa I’ve ever had. For whatever reason once I get a hint of that, it’s all I can taste for the rest of the beer.
100% agree their regular hops have been better than their one-offs as of late. But again I’m just not into the sweet note I’m getting with them.

Yeah I had gotten DDH HH as well, but I gave 3 cans to friends and only drank 1 myself, which I drank after a few other IPAs and can't really remember how it was. I feel its always been agreed on their darker beers and belgian beers were the better of what they did, even before pastry style dark beers arose and then Kane followed along with it as well. There's some one-off/rotational beers have been good but some of them are just okay. I always loved Party Wave from the first time I tried it as on tap only, glad that's a core beer now even if I have been chasing the goodness of the batch I had during peak COVID times in Arpil 2020. For some reason no batch after that has hit the same, glad I got a few 4s of that one at the time. The other I will say that comes and goes and its generally always good is SBX.
