Have they updated what the hours of the new tap room will be?

It’s interesting how Kane is one of the biggest and most popular breweries in NJ but has one of the smallest taproom schedules. Doesn’t really bother me because I only go on weekends anyway.

For me, the best time is weekdays which means Kane never gets my business unfortunately. I was hoping that they would at least add Thursday afternoons.

I believe they said when the new taproom opened they would be open 7 nights a week. Maybe they are just getting scheduling sorted and will expand them soon

I guess they are allowing party buses again. Big charter bus parked in front and there was a line about 10 deep just to get into the tap room today with the host only allowing people in as other people left. I said thanks but no thanks and went to Twin Lights instead.

So I went to Kane with a couple friends today.
The new taproom is nice with extra seating. Not a huge fan of doing away with four oz tasters, especially as they gave me a four oz taster of the stout I ordered as they told me no more four oz tasters…???

Not gonna lie. A lot of great beers in the tap room and to go. But not happy that Vengeful Heart switched to crowlers this year.

I got a 4oz taster of ANTEAD, are they not doing 4oz pours of anything else? While the new tap room is an upgrade in terms of the climate control and the new space itself, which is nice, it almost felt like a down grade in terms of actual size of the new space. I went around 5ish on Sat, not expecting it too be too crowded since it really hasn't been the last few months, and it was slammed. There was literally no where to sit or stand and we ended up standing in the old tap room/brew house for a bit and eventually got a seat a bit later. with how narrow the space is, if there is no open spots at tables there not much room to stand in the new space without being in the way. I am sure I will like it more as I go and it being packed was maybe an outlier, looking forward to the potential week night hours soon hopefully.

Curious if they will use the old space/bar during the summer when it should be a bit more crowded.

It was busy but not too crowded at 1-2 when we were there. Yeah I thought it was weird they had no info on the board as to what size pours were available. It seemed like the big stouts were 4 oz, IPAs were 16 oz and DIPAs were maybe 10oz?

Yeah I got a DDH SBX and it was a either 10 or 12. I didn't ask in particular for smaller IPA but said small pour of ANTEAD. I was surprised, and also my own fault for not paying attention, but I guess no more small pours of Field & Oak, I asked for one and it was so loud I wasn't able to hear as well and it ended up being the whole bottle to drink onsite. They cost was the same as to go which is fine, but would be nice to still get a small pour. I guess cost wise its cheaper getting the full bottle to share. I'll give Kane the benefit of always figuring things out pretty well, so I assume it will get better as they move forward.

The local paper (yeah, such things still exist) The Asbury Park Press has an article w/video on the new facility. (It's only a dollar/month - what's that 6 ounces of beer, if you're lucky? Yeah, yeah - it's a Gannett paper but whacha gonna do?)

Unfortunately, behind a paywall but it's

Stopped in last week to check out the new tasting room. Although I miss the drafty charm of the barrel room, the relaxed and upscale taproom is quite nice. For some reason, I was reminded a bit of Fort Nonsense's new facility.

For the bigger beers (i.e. Barleywine and ANTEAD) they are doing these little jobbers. This is Stacking Casks #3

I already gave some feedback on some of the early issues I saw with the new space, and it seems some of them are being addressed which is nice. Stopped in yesterday and it was pretty empty, likely due to the nice weather, but I really do wish they still had small pours for everything. I get not having a true flight offering, which they haven't in years, but not offering an smaller pours for any of the items on draft outside the higher ABV stouts is just a miss IMO. Hopefully they amend that.

Anyone have any feedback on this years Morning Bell and the variants. I find myself not buying bottles as often as I have too many to drink through still, but I do really want to grab MB. The BA Biscotti stout looked to have favorable reviews as well, but I def should crack some I have home before getting that

I tried the new west coast IPA at the taproom this weekend, while it has pretty bad reviews on untappd (which I don't put a ton of stock in regardless) I thought it was great if you are looking for that type of beer. Its more early NE IPA than true west coast IPA, but its certainly not as fruity/citrus forward as what is a NE IPA now.
