Been enjoying fresh growlers of Hop Lab Citra, Vengeful Heart, and Cortijo since yesterday. I thought Vengeful Heart was one hell of a delicious brew, and probably my favorite of the trio. Cortijo was extremely unique, and while I enjoyed it (tasted like green apples up front to me), I think it's more of a one and done in a night. Citra on the other hand, I would have no problem consuming in a session.

Head High is still my favorite Kane beer. Absolutely delicious. Looking forward to trying some of their darker beers and barrel aged stuff eventually.

I actually had Head High for the first time in a long time this weekend at Skratch in Asbury Park. I had forgotten how good that beer can be. I take it for granted a lot because it's almost always in every bar in Central Jersey.

I don't think it's been in the taproom since it was last brewed, I wonder if that's an old keg or a new batch is forthcoming. PO month has been going on a while.

Not sure the date on this batch. Kane did a tap takeover here last weekend, and I was able to pick this up.

That was the only variant I tried at the brewery Saturday. Loved the smell, did not really like the taste much.

Appreciate you letting me know but surprisingly, I was not a fan of any of the Port Omna variants ( and I did have them all at the brewery). I was at JC last week and saw it on tap but filled up my standard growler of Overhead instead. Walked out of there with a 4 pack of IDIPA, a growler of Overhead and a 6 pack of Lagunitas Waldo's Special Ale, so I left there a happy man.

They had IDIPA at Canals in Woodbridge? Man, I love that place.

Anybody try the new Hop Lab? I was thinking of getting a fill today (as if I don't have enough beer), its got some stellar reviews on untappd.

I'm dying to try it but my fridge is literally full :\

I've heard a lot of really good things. I'm sure I'll get up there at some point this weekend

The Waimea? I thought it was okay. I don't know what I was expecting but for some reason I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would have.

I think Citra Pale Ale has me ruined in that I'm comparing anything to that now when I hear "juicy Kane beer".

Citra is so damn good. Like for me personally a top 5 beer in the country (just my personal taste). But Hop Lab Wheat was really really good too. And Hop Lab Triple was good despite being very different. And even Mandarina was solid. I've yet to be disappointed by a Hop Lab series yet and I don't plan on starting with Waimea (I hope)

It was actually my least favorite of the hop lab series. But apparently I'm in the minority.

I think @DrStiffington and I agreed on this... not sure my memory isn't stellar.

I'm not going to say that Waimea isn't good... it is, it's just not comparable for me to some of the others. But if I had to choose between Waimea and the best offering at some of the other breweries in Jersey, I'd probably do Waimea.

It's good, just not some of the other Hop Lab's good to me.

    Wheat IPA – 7.4% ABV – released 11/17/2014
Wheat IPA uses both white and red wheat for a little extra body, added flavor, and wheat’s signature haze. We used lots of Simcoe in the kettle and then dry hopped aggressively with more Simcoe, Centennial, and Citra.

Well that explains why I liked the Wheat IPA a lot.
