Kane Brewing (April 2017)

Thank you for the update but, I think I'll sit this one out.

 

No line for cans though.

 

Looks like regular is gone. Only cacao, coconut, and vanilla left

 

I'm glad I got this out of the way already.

 

Not sure what the right way of doing this is but here's what I'll say.

Right place right time I guess, happened to be meeting my father there anyway. He got a full set and I happened to get a full set minus the Rye, just missed.

Kane did a fantastic job with organization and all things considered I think it went quickly.

Seems like, and a few employees confirmed, that some was left out of the lottery acknowledging how pissed people have gotten over this beer in the past. Yours truly included.

That said, I agreed with how it was done this year despite losing the lottery. I live close, go often and got lucky. Even if I missed, it was fair. Mike said the Rye was low yield so maybe this was the plan from the get go. The rest it looked like they had a lot and I'm pretty sure 300+ locals got taken care of today.

 

100% spot on here. Was on my way out the door to Other Half to hop around Brooklyn and saw the post and shot over to Kane. Missed on rye and the base but got the 3 others. Good amount left right now.

The rye was low yield so it was expected it was super limited of the 5. Real hats off to Kane today they are working super hard to get this into the hands of as many people as they can AND they did this to help the people who come and support often but got shut out like myself.

Being as close as I am I've had multiple chances to taste ANTEAD and if I didn't get a single bottle like last year I wouldn't have been too mad, but I lucked out today! AND we get Party Wave and Wind Swell... good thing it was a pay week

 

Side note anyone leaving the brewery there are cops everywhere around there giving out tickets like crazy and on 35 as well. Be safe y'all

 

I saw 3 cop cars heading over as I pulled out. Glad I got out of there. Kane needs to figure parking out if expansion at that site continues.

 

Only checked Instagram before heading to Kane around 1 - should have checked here or FB clearly. Oh well, missed out on bottles (they said there was a 50/50 shot I could wait in the 45 minute line for Coconut but I passed on that). 1 person in line for cans. I left happy. Party Wave, guys!

I think what has become evident to me is that Kane is listening. Really nobody at this point can complain.

 

I wasn't there and although I would have loved to have been there, I'm glad a bunch of you were able to grab bottles and cans. That definitely warms the cockles of my heart.

 

Often times we point out the worst in the craft beer scene, and rightfully so. Today I witnessed something at Kane that was refreshing.

The line formed in the front at 11:15. At approximately 11:45 the formal announcement was made and it noted to line up in the back. Rather than a mad dash to the back, people actually maintained their spot in line and everyone casually made it to the back. Unfortunately there were some who advanced their spots, but overall, it was nice to see people doing the right thing.

 

in the spirit of my man JC's weekend, I'm glad to see my fellow NJ people making out like bandits down there at Kane today. Plus I have to add, between my new Carton cans, newish Kane cans, Conclave cans, and even some Bolero Snort cans, i gotta say I'm loving NJ these days. Cheers everyone!

 

A couple things I did notice however was the line cutting where a guy walks up to his friend in line and now he's with him and people blatantly discussing how much they sold their sets for.

 

Ya gotta take the good with the bad my man.

 

Guys, I'm heading to Kane, did you guys leave me anything?

 

My buddy was parked in a bad spot, we arrived together. He ran off line for like 15 min to get a better spot. When he came back the line had literally doubled. Things aren't always what they seem. Just another way to view it.

 

Was plenty of cans around 3. Antead bottles were gone at 230.

 

I'm so glad I missed this announcement would not have had the self control not to go and needed to get stuff done today. Enjoy your bottles anyone that went!
