Ripple is on tap for samples and pours.

Limits on bottles of Overhead and Ripple remain the same, so it's looking good for today. I'll probably swing by later.

I heard more Ripple was made than Overhead.

I was also there right before closing time, so, safe to say, anyone wanting to go on Thursday will probably be able to snag a bottle of each.

Sad I couldn't get there this weekend and hoping the limit is at least a couple bottles on Thursday. Thanks for the heads up.

Honestly I wasn't all that thrilled with Ripple--you really have to dig Nelson to appreciate it, I guess. Too much white grapey-ness and mango, way too little carbonation for my tastes. If someone had said that I was drinking some sort of fruit juice instead of beer, I probably would have believed him/her. Glad I only bought one bottle to try. I preferred the Simcoe Session that was done not too long ago (much different hop profile obviously) and with BOAT pretty easy to come by, my bar is set pretty high for < 5% session beers. I also got a growler fill of Citra while I was there and rediscovered my love for that beer. It was all too easy putting away a liter of that.

I'm going to agree here. First time I had Ripple I really liked it. I have grown more fond of Boat, which uses 8 hop varieties, as I find the complexity unbeatable thus far in the session category.

I do love Boat but I might dig Ripple even more. Just can't get it as often.

I love boat and Ripple and my growler of Citra. Life is good. Could anyone see a collaboration between Kane and Carton? I was talking to my buddy about it last weekend. It would be cool obviously but we couldn't come up with something unique that they would do together.

Boat, Ripple and Citra are the best session beers in New Jersey and easily some of the best I have had at the ABV.

Agree 100%. Love all three and wish I could get all three in cans regularly.

That would be awesome. Citra cans should be coming this fall but I think it will be a while for Ripple. Form what I've heard Kane is very against putting beer in non printed cans. Which is why we are getting these bottles.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to both Citra and Overhead in cans this fall.

In the spring, Carton, Kane and Conlcave (and another NJ brewer) brewed a collaboration beer for a charity event. Unfortunately, there was an issue with one of the ingredients and the batch had to be dumped. The idea of a collaboration in the future is not impossible.

Is it messed up that I'm glad that beer got dumped? No FOMO for me.

If anything, Kane’s involvement in that collab. was minimal if at all; I feel like it’s pulling nails to get Kane involved in a collab. I’m sure they get care packages all the time, from various breweries across the country. However, I think they just want to satisfy the common folks first, before going on a collab. rampage – not mentioning names

My recollection, which admittedly is fuzzy, was that Michael Kane was driving the bus with regard to the collab.

I'm not overly concerned with whether or not there is a collaboration. If they do great, if not I will enjoy the beers they produce on their own.

Can't blame them. Collaborative brews tend to bring out the half in every brewer. Rarely are you going to get a dynamite result from 100% participation of both parties. It's a branding outreach more often than not and as the best brewery in New Jersey Kane doesn't need to worry about where they stand on that aspect.
