Kane Brewing (February 2017)

It's 100% a business decision. The special releases and tap takeovers will bring people in regardless of what time they do it, so why not do it during their slowest time? I can never go myself that early but can't fault them for making them midweek and early in the day to drum up business during what is normally a slow time. Looks like plenty of decent Kane stuff still on tap today/tonight also for anyone interested and not chasing the big stouts.

 

my guess on the coffee antead was they had some base 15 they added coffee too.. which also leads me to believe MB should be soon.. still think next ant release is 2 months away give or take a few weeks in either direction.. pretty sure last weekend when i was there for evening bell the empty morning bell BB were from about a year ago.. so MB and BA MB should be soon

 

I asked someone in the know at Rook today if there would be Morning Bell this year? They either don't know or are very tight lipped as they said "I hope so. Its a fun project and the only one outside our doors that we do anymore."

 

How have you guys allowed ANTEAD to last more than a day? I'm fricking ashamed of you lot.

 

Seriously how did that happen. When they did the last one at gusto grill in EB I got there an hour and half after they started and it was gone for a while already ugh.

Man, only HH in cans and only growlers of HH, Overhead, Single Fin, Parhelion again this weekend. I hope the takeaway menu improves for the weekend cause this is a brutal takeout lineup compared to what we have come to expect from Kane. They have to be releasing something right?

I was going to point out that having the tap takeover start at times when the place is slowest makes more sense revenue-wise, but another factor is that the place opens up midday. To start the tap takeover later would mean they'd need to change all of their kegs at some point.

Assuming both bars got the same amount of the beer, Cloverleaf's tap list had more rare options than Gusto's did, and Gusto was also doing 10 oz. pours instead of samples. If I remember correctly, I believe someone who was there before I got there said they were also pouring growlers at first too and then changed their mind. Their prices didn't make sense. It was cheaper to get two 5 oz. pours than it was to get one 10 oz. pour.

 

Just six short months for regular availability of Head High cans to become passe.

 

Certainly not passe. Why make the trip when I know the only thing I'll leave with is HH cans. I can just wait a week and hope for Overhead/Sneakbox and a better growler list.. I will always buy HH cans whenever I make the trip, but won't make it only for HH cans and don't think that is irrational and certainly isn't a diss to the quality of HH

 

been confirmed coffee tead at both modern times event and cloverleaf was indeed a 15 base batch tead with fresh coffee added

 

Its ANTEAD not tead..... Dont shorten the already shortened acronym.

Anyone know if ANTEAD is still pouring at Cloverleaf? They posted this morning it still was but wondering if it's been kicked by now.

Head High cans are my go to... my norm. I acquire lots of other beer all the time... heavy rotation but I always have Head Highs in my fridge.

 

They called out and went to cloverleaf.
