You aren't going to get bottles or cans anywhere but the brewery. Depending on where you are In Essex the Cloverleaf will have Kane on tap. Kelly's Growlers in Belleville always has some Kane for growler fills.

I know. The plan was to make a trip directly to the brewery from my relatives' house.

Good thing it's 4th of July weekend.
There won't be any traffic headed to the Jersey shore

I mean, if sitting in traffic was a major concern of mine, I would have constant nervous breakdowns living in Toronto. Commutes from the 'burbs and nearby towns are comparable to LA.

I had no idea 4th of July was such a big deal for you guys. Thanks for your input

Just a note, sometimes people you are condescending to, already have a pretty solid grasp of things. Don't be so quick to assume ignorance.

Also I feel the need to point out that it was strange to assume I wouldn't be delaying the trip to Kane, until after the weekend. I made no specifications about the duration of my trip.

You aren't going to survive one day in Jersey with that punchy attitude.

Relax bud, he's kidding with you, sort of.

It's Jersey (and white collar 'burbs to boot), not the Bronx. I've been there many times before, not worried about surviving. Who the hell is so snarky to such an innocuous post? If anyone was 'punchy' it was him.

Excellent idea. There are usually no lines at the brewery on Tuesday and Wednesday.

I actually was trying to be helpful and give you some local places. Apparently you are too thin skinned and the tiniest bit of sarcasm is too much for you.

Nice! I've made that trip many times (family in Caldwell, girlfriend in Montclair) - if you want local draft, Cloverleaf (Caldwell) is a top 3 bar in the state, Cowan's Public (Nutley) can be counted on for some local craft too. Tacos across the street from Cloverleaf, but the food inside is great too. Similarly great Mexican at Casa Piquin in Montclair. On your way down, you might pass Canals in Woodbridge which is one of the better beer shops in the area (8 growler lines too, half of which are local only) as well as Maloney's in Matawan which often taps their exclusive 077XX variant from Carton (dry hopped a 3rd time with Galaxy - it's one of the best ones) as well as 99 other great taps, at least 10 of which are local at any given moment. There's a Rook Coffee down the street from Kane if you need some cold brew (It's gonna be hot) & you want to see why Morning Bell is so freaking good, and Asbury has tons of great food and a beautiful boardwalk/beach 10 minutes away if you have extra time to kill. Enjoy it! I'd be surprised if you don't. Oh, and obviously - try Hop Lab Citra.

A bit off topic, but can anyone recommend a stellar seafood spot nearby to Kane? Planning a day trip to AP with my wife and surprising her with a great seafood restaurant will definitely make up for the time spent at Kane prior to the meal

Kleins in Belmar is good. It's also right on the water which is nice. In AP probably Fish

In Asbury, The Bonney Read is on the corner of Cookman and Bangs.

For fairness, The Bonney Read is $$$. But the owner was/is the executive chef of Asbury Biergarten and was on a few seasons of Hell's Kitchen with Gordon Ramsey... so, yeah.

I went there on the weekend, heavily priced dishes for sure.

It is also really good and serves local beer. I second the Read.

There is a Red Lobster a few miles before Kane on 35 if you are looking to go all out and impress your Mrs.

Avenue is also excellent if you want to trek to Long Branch. Totally different vibe than Rooney's though. Restaurant/nightclub with tables overlooking the water as opposed to Rooney's more traditional beach vibe.

Anyone know the canning schedule? I ripped through my first case quicker than I thought I would
