    I guess it was only fair to include a monthly thread for Kane as well. I'll start off with;

Who ended up snagging that DB ANTEAD yesterday, and how is it?

I was able to grab one. Haven't opened it yet. Anyone open theirs? Thoughts?

Vengeful Heart is awesome. Unlike any other barleywine i've ever had. More like a hoppy beer than a barleywine.

Agreed about Vengeful Heart. Crazy that's still just sitting on the shelf.

I love vengeful hearts. Had two of my four bottles already. Might have to go pick up two more.

Great to see them adding new beers to their rotation. I tried their Last Contact and was pleasantly surprised with it. Too bad it was samples only

Great to see Kane getting it's own monthly thread. Thank you!

I just happened to be on my way to Kane (only 20 min away) on Saturday to fill a growler for St Patty's party on Sunday when I got a text that they had DB ANTEAD. When I got there there were 5 people in line, 2 of whom were old women who clearly sent by their sons to get bottles. I actually stood in the wrong line to begin with. By time I got my bottle, got my growler filled and did a flight the line was already out the tasting room door.

I think it's really cool the way Kane did it too. As much as I like getting more than 1, they made it so as many people as possible could get their hands on some. I realize you probably had to be a local, but it also sounds like the variants (other than the DB) lasted into the late afternoon.

As for Last Contact and Harrow, I wasn't overwhelmed by either. Last Contact is definitely what it says it is, and it's a very interesting beer, just not my taste personally. It's by no means terrible. Just keep those Hop Labs coming  I'm sure they will in the spring. Morning Bell and Holy Nights nitro are absolutely amazing too.

DB lasted till around 1:30... Vanilla was the first to go and was gone before i got there around 1:10.. Coconut and regular lasted for a bit after DB was gone.. last 2 regulars were sold at 2:15

Great release by Kane.. really wasn't any other good way to do it.

If you saw their post, were within a 1 hr 15 min drive you were able to get a DB... if you were within a 2 hr 10 min drive you were able to get at least an ANTEAD as consolation bottle... can't beat that with a stick

    plus the tap-list was stellar!

man was that a stressful drive however haha

Agreed, wish Kane would do all their releases like this. It really does cut down on crowds and lines and makes it easier on the brewery.

Wasn't able to make it to the leftover ANTEAD release sadly - still have not tried this elusive beer. That said, kudos to the Kane team for letting locals have some fun too.

I wanted to stick around and try the sour porter but I felt bad that I probably smelled like garbage! I have made it a habit to check the FB page right around opening every day on the weekends now and had just gotten back from a nice long jog. Knew that ANTEAD would not last long so jumped in the car and drove ~90mph on the parkway to get up there still in my sweaty exercise clothes.. Totally worth it lol

Cool of you to put yourself and other drivers at risk to try to buy some beer.

90 is just going with the flow of traffic. @Tim725 was fine

Average speed on the parkway is only about 69-70 mph, so definitely not within the flow of normal traffic. Ever since the speed limit was raised to 65 mph, accidents on highways where the change was made from 55-65 have increased by 18 %.
Doing 90 to make sure you can buy some beer is not ok. Please dont try to justify it.

I'm not going to get into a debate about speeding, or especially why someone is speeding, but what portion of the GSP do you drive where the average speed is only 69-70? Certainly not above exit 100.

This seems to be the last time data was available. Not anecdotal at all.

Based on my experience over the past 20 years or so, they might want to check their equipment. I don't know how many times I've been doing 80 on the GSP and watching cars whiz past to my left, and right. Regardless, this is a silly argument so this will be my last comment on the matter.

    Back to Kane...
