Isn't this kind of post just as unproductive as the one it's replying to?

Anyway, if you let it warm up a bit, Cove at Raglan is fucking amazing. Funny how Kane released a brand-spanking-new IPA and it got exactly 0 discussion in this thread.

Cool. I'm curious though, as I said in a previous post, I can't imagine getting anyone to go to the brewery to get beer for me. How close does she live?

Never had ANTEAD. Super psyched to finally try it. I will not trade any. I will share them with fellow geeks. Beer is meant to be enjoyed, and to me, that's the best way to enjoy

I did post about it and Ripple in cans and to be honest, as much as I wanted the ANTEAD set, I'm happier that I got those two canned beers and at a fraction of the cost no less.

We are all local. Usually takes about 20 minutes to get there though its ~10 miles away (stupid traffic)

**Quick Edit** Also she goes there occasionally as well since she is a beer drinker too so it wasnt a stretch to get her to go over there for beer for us. We pick up stuff for her from there occasionally as well.

Same here! Already know that Coconut will be coming along to VA Beach with me.. My mom loved Port Omna Coconut (and Sunday Brunch) so I'm wondering what she will think of ANTEAD Coconut...!

So because I live 2 hour away in New York and can't get to the brewery as often as locals, I'm less entitled to the beer than you are? Please. Am I also less entitled because I'm a woman, too?

Pretty much exactly my thoughts. Kane does almost every other release as a silent release, announced less than an hour before opening. Literally everything they've done other than this release caters to locals, and you never hear out of staters complaining (I don't, at least).

Obviously I'm not upset because I was able to buy the beer through bpt last year, and won the lottery this year. Didn't have anyone sign up for me, but my husband and a few friends also signed up and were denied. I plan to share the beer with them, I hope most winners do the same.

Cove at Raglan is real good once it warms up, I enjoyed it! Haven't cracked a Ripple yet but heard good things about this years batch!

Only 1 entry for me and I did get shut out. Still the fairest way to do a release like this IMO though. And I have to laugh at those making the "I'm local and am there every other week" entitlement argument. How many of those people have, or would pass on entering a Bruery lottery for BT or CR because they feel guilty about living too far away and not spending enough $$ on Bruery beers to support them.

My exact figures. I agree, it stings seeing people from all over take home something I love all the while supporting this brewery year round. There is a solution to this problem and we can just hope in the next 14-16 months Kane gets that.

oh I by no means was trying to be productive. None of these posts are productive. I'm just here to enjoy the entitled locals complaining about missing out again. Everyone says last year was better, but there was just as much, if not more, bitching by locals who missed out last year. I just find it funny, especially given the fact that locals are still likely the vast majority of winners, even though those who lost will deny that.

More important than all this ANTEAD nonsense...does anyone know if they still have Raglan and Ripple cans left?

Again, my disclaimer is that I'm not really on one side or the other but I do enjoy the debate: I think there's a difference in that Kane is basically a NJ only brewery and Bruery distributes all over US so I think people feel more possessive of a smaller in-state only brewery. I get that argument.

Being from NY, how often do you both visit Kane, either for a release or just a trip. I'm genuinely just curious not trying to stir anything.

Agree, probably not the best example using the Bruery, but it could be Three Floyds Dark Lord, Cigar City Hunapu, or any breweries most sought after stout. My point being if people have the chance to land it they will probably enter and not give 2 sh*ts whether they are locals or not.

I grew up in Red Bank and have been going to Kane since they opened. Parents still live there and I go to both Kane and Carton whenever I'm home (once a month or so). Hope that makes me local enough

What in the world does being a woman have to do with anything??? How could you possibly imply that I think you're less entitled because you're a woman? The 3 people close to me that put in were myself, my wife, and my sister. That is some real out of line character assassination shit
