Kane Brewing (May 2016)

I love Kane but respectfully disagree. Was not at the last AGE but the one prior was unbelievable.

 

I'm with you on that. AGE is a step above. That last batch from a couple months ago was ridiculously good.

 

Let's all just be thankful we now have so much great beer locally to argue over which is more awesome.

 

Anyone try the dry hopped beers? I love every HH variant. Also, how sad is everyone about no Sunday Brunch bottles? Don't lie.

 

@DrStiffington Wholeheartedly agree. The high quality craft selection in NY/NJ has exploded in the last 2-3 years.

 

Triple has gotten significantly better since the firat time I had it; perhaps HopLab = tweak/WIP? AGE on the other hand seems to fluctate (e.g. can be a boozy mess), whereas the HopLab series only seems to get better. Sure, the recent batch of AGE might have been stellar, but whose to say that consistency remains?

I may have enjoyed the Hop Lab El Dorado more than Citra, which I didnt think was possible. Nice and juicy

Totally agree with AGE being boozy AOE too. Hoplab triple is just what you'd expect from a triple IPA a ridiculous amount of hops layed over a solid base

 

I feel like every OH beer is too boozy, hyped. I've said it before and agree with the above hop lab is better than AGE and I don't have to wait in line four hours to get it.

 

Had a great time at Kane today. Tons of options and all being super great options at that! Loved the new hop labs i hadn't had before and the DDH offerings were icing on the cake!

I almost hate to see what it's going to be like up there on a Saturday in a few more weeks during the summer season... yikes are they going to be beyond busy

 

It's not so much the crowd at the brewery in the summer, but depending on where you're coming from, the crowded roads to get to the brewery

I was at Kane yesterday. I tried El Dorado, still like Citra more, but just by a bit. I can't hand the Hop Lab crown to anyone else, yet.

During the summer, I don't usually visit the brewery since I'm at the beach a lot more but do end up going during the week for their Thursdays.

Heard there was a gaggle of people waiting for Kane to open yesterday in case Sunday Brunch was there.

 

Funny you mention that. I got there just after 12 yesterday and thought it was oddly crowded for just opening.

 

I wonder if it will be crowded next Saturday...

 

I got there around 11:45. planned on going at 12 with friends anyway. I had heard rumors bout sunday brunch too, but was going regardless of bottles or not. I like going early then getting food after. maybe 20 people before opening were there.

 

I would think it would be Mexican Brunch, not Sunday Brunch
