That's a great idea because if we are all outside, nobody will have to keep the lights on!

 

NJ laws suck when it comes to food at breweries. I'm pretty sure they can't have any on their property. A few food trucks on a nice day would be glorious

 

Twin Elephant has a food truck almost every Friday... so it may be tied more to the property owner or municipality than brewery specific laws... but I could be wrong.

 

Might be off the property. Can you drink in the area around the truck? I'm very curious about the specifics of the law

 

It's also a possibility Kane dosent want to pick up after other people's mess from food they're not making a bulk of their money on. I honestly do not blame them if that's the case. I work in the food industry and it's mind boggling the mess some ppl will just leave for you to clean up after them.

 

"33:1-10Class A licenses; subdivisions; fees.

Limited brewery license. 1b. The holder of this license shall be entitled, subject to rules and regulations, to brew any malt alcoholic beverages in a quantity to be expressed in said license, dependent upon the following fees and not in excess of 300,000 barrels of 31 fluid gallons capacity per year and to sell and distribute this product to wholesalers and retailers licensed in accordance with this chapter, and to sell and distribute without this State to any persons pursuant to the laws of the places of such sale and distribution, and to maintain a warehouse; provided, however, that the delivery of this product by the holder of this license to retailers licensed under this title shall be from inventory in a warehouse located in this State which is operated under a limited brewery license. The holder of this license shall be entitled to sell this product at retail to consumers on the licensed premises of the brewery for consumption on the premises, but only in connection with a tour of the brewery, or for consumption off the premises in a quantity of not more than 15.5 fluid gallons per person, and to offer samples for sampling purposes only pursuant to an annual permit issued by the director. The holder of this license shall not sell food or operate a restaurant on the licensed premises. The fee for this license shall be graduated as follows:.... "

Call your State Senator and Assemblyman and tell them you support this bill.

 

I do know that at some point you could have food at Kane, and then that changed. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a law or a "Sloppy people are the reasons why we can't have nice things" rule.

 

not you cannot drink outside of the taproom, so perhaps that is it? You can buy food from the truck and bring it inside. You can also bring your own food, or order from take out places to be delivered to the brewery...

lets not mention every brewery that may occasionally have food trucks on or near the premise, no reason to open that can of worms.

 

I mean then to settle the question above I would yes it would certainly be possible for Kane to have food trucks in or around the brewery if they wanted to and it's more likely it's just completely not worth it for them to do it

 

I ate a Snickers in Carton's parking lot once...

 

it's been a bit since i've been to Kane, but i know on their website they say no food in the brewery, maybe that's changed.

 

think you lost track of the thread - by my comment re food truck and ability to order takeout etc was about Twin Elephant not Kane, I can't speak for Kane's policy.

 

Any chance Kane throws Mexican Brunch on today for Cinco de Mayo?
