Was told by a Kane employee they want to try and have SB on tap well into summer. Similar to how morning bell was last year

Agreed and that will be amazing if Sunday is on tap for a while

The old label was much better . The new one (Evening Bell included) is pretty tacky imo.

I hate the new labels, but the beer is great.

I like the old label better, it was classier. The new one is comic sans in comparison, but full disclaimer, I love what's inside so to me, doesn't matter.

Wow, talk about a coffee forward beer. Morning Bell is great, though, exactly what I was hoping for based on descriptions.

Agreed. This beer has so much coffee and I'm not complaining. Anyone one sitting on these bottles is going to miss out. I'll save one for a little bit just to see how it turns out but gotta drink em now!

Not too upset I missed out on it, Sunday Brunch is my favorite non-barreled porter/stout that Kane brews, followed by solitude. You can count on me dropping everything on a Saturday to go for one of those two. MB is good, but nothing I'd go nuts over. Like I and many others have said, no worries, it's just beer, and there's always next time. Head over and have it on tap.

If it was BA MB however...I'd love another drop of that. That was a treat.

I agree with others that this year's Morning Bell is a coffee bomb. It's like someone put a little beer in my coffee. Almost straight up Rook cold brew. For me unfortunately, that is too much coffee. Last years was better in my opinion. More balanced, sweet, thicker mouthfeel, and what I considered the best milk porter and one of my favorite beers last year. This year is so coffee foward, thinner mouthfeel and a bit acrid at the end. If Kane was going for a coffee bomb, then they nailed it, but again, I think too much coffee.

Out of curiosity, if it's too coffee-forward, better to let it sit for a bit then - maybe then it falls off a tad?

So if you let a few sit they should be perfect for you in a few months

I have a few bottles left and I will definitely see where they go. It will be interesting to see where the coffee flavor goes after time.

The problem with the aging philosophy, in this specific scenario, is @Bobes105 personal opinion on the feel. Sure the coffee will tend to fade, but should only be aging if other characteristics are at play: a lot of heat (strong burn), thick feel, abundantly syrupy (strong coffee). Seeing as though @Bobes105 mentioned only one problem, then aging might deteriorate the already “thinner mouthfeel.” More so, and regardless of the ABV, if heat is not a problem now, then development and complexity is less likely to occur. Essentially, no real point to age considering the development will be null or perhaps lessen. Consequently, @Bobes105 may be substituting less coffee for an even thinner/watery/weaker porter, which may or may not be a good trade-off reliant on personal opinion

I would also echo this. I actually had a similar experience with PM Dawn from Trillium a few months ago. Had a can fresh, and while delicious, it tasted like 75% coffee 25% beer to me. I prefer something more like 50/50, and the acridity/bitterness from the coffee was just too much. Let my other cans sit and progressively drank them at ~1-month intervals thereafter. Each one was better than the last; by the end, I felt that 50/50 balance had been achieved as the coffee had just become less pronounced.

Not saying that my experience with one beer will directly translate to yours with a completely different beer, but if you're not absolutely loving the beer right now due to excessive coffee flavor / acridity, I'd certainly recommend waiting a few weeks just to see how the time impacts your perception, if only because I'm super glad I did!

Drank my last Waimea Punch tonight. God damn that it was a great beer. And it hardly fell off either. So much flavor. Hope Kane and Aslin get together again sometime

I have 2 PM Dawn in my fridge from December, excited now to crack them after hearing this.

I am giving a bunch of my Morning Bell to friends, but I am saving a few. I drank one Sunday and as I noted, tons of Coffee. I will be curious to see how it ends up over a bit of time as well. I did like last years better as the balance right away was more even, but I liked this years as well, but I do love Rook and coffee in general. I feel like the adjunct flavors on Morning Bell and Port Omna this year were stronger than last year. Maybe it sat longer at the brewery last year than this year before releases and it was just more upfront. I do know they said on Sunday that they didn't use cold brew for Morning Bell it was ground coffee and tons of it!
