I know, I LOVE Head High. But I think I loved Party Wave atleast as much. Was very tasty. Plus a combo of some of my favorite hops. It hit the spot for me personally.

I wonder if the fact that as a hoppy beer it got an actual name and not just another "Hop Lab ___" label is any indication of their intentions for the beer?

Good point about the name. I hope you are right. The more beers they can the better.

Sounds great but can you elaborate? What's the abv? Is it more West Coast style? East Coast/New England? Are they doing growler fills or just samples?

The brewery is open tonight from 5-8pm for tours and tastings. Party Wave, our 7.2% IPA is on tap today for the first time for samples and growler fills. Party Wave is brewed with a blend of four hops; Galaxy, Mosaic, Simcoe and Citra throughout the process. Flavors of passion fruit and citrus from the heavy use of Galaxy and Citra and more subtle pine and tropical fruit from the Mosaic and Simcoe blend well with a simple malt bill of Pilsner, Wheat and Low Crystal. ...

Thanks for posting. Those of us not on FB are at such a disadvantage. (Good thing my wife is!!) I'll never understand why Breweries can't post the same info on their own websites. But I am excited to try this.

I have a fake FB account with no friends on it just so I can follow brewery updates. I recommend it for beer advocates.

Or just make it so that non-facebookers can see it. That what Carton does.

Thanks it's brand new obviously so I can't speak to the long term intentions for this beer, but I can say we all really like it too. Historically that's been a strong indicator of what makes repeat appearances (like certain Hop Labs) or what gets bumped to the steady lineup (like Citra Pale Ale/Sneak box).

"Permanent" additions to the lineup are always tricky with finite capacity but we've added a significant amount of fermentation capacity over the last several months so it certainly opens up more possibilities.

How is it looking with bottle and cans for today? Bringing some VA Peeps for the first time

I went there yesterday at 5 and picked up a bottle of Object Permanence and a 4 of Head High. Plenty of bottles left at the time and cans. Not sure how it looked by 8.

Tried Party Waves, their 7.2% IPA. I'm PERSONALLY bummed out because I've had WAY too many good beers lately, so this one was good, but not as awesome to ME as it sounded to be. I'd still drink the hell out of this beer on any given day, but yesterday was one of those days I could just rewind my palate to an earlier time and enjoy this much more.

Party wave might be my new favorite Kane hoppy beer. Everything about it is perfect IMO.

Man, that Party Wave sounds amazing. Galaxy, Citra and Simcoe are probably my 3 favorite hops.

So is the general consensus that Overhead is preferred over Head High? I'm just curious because I was recently able to get my hands on some Overhead cans, and while I think it's a very good DIPA, I really think I prefer Head High. I know one is a double and one is a single, but I think even putting all that aside, Head High is just a more enjoyable beer for me. And that is pretty rare that I would prefer the single over the double. Although admittedly I don't know if Overhead is supposed to be the "double" version of Head High.

I used to prefer overhead to head high back in the growler only days. But I think I enjoy head high more now in the can days. I think head high has a higher rating here.
