    What type of food?

The weather has been really nice so i recommend going to Asbury Park and taking a walk down Cookman Ave. As great mix to choose from.

Yea I'd just take the ride to Asbury Park (~10 min) and like someone above said walk around and enjoy the day and choose from a wide variety of options. Some of my favorites are:

Brickwall if you want to continue drinking from a solid beer list (though I've been impressed less and less the last couple times I've been there) and have decent tavern type food and a raw bar.

La Loteria was a really cool cheaper Mexican place. If you ask them they will go get you beer from their neighboring bar Capitoline which has a better selection

Brando's on Main St. is fantastic Italian food in a beautiful setting and they have Kane and Carton on tap (best happy hour for food I've ever been to)

Porta is a popular pizza spot that has German biergarten style seating and a nice outdoor space if it's a beautiful day.

The better pizza spot imo is Talula's and they've had a tendency to have some real gems on tap. I went there with the Mrs. for dinner one night and they casually had KBS listed on tap with no fan fare.

Pascal and Sabine's is a great French restaurant.

    Cardinal Provisions great lunch/brunch spot.

So many great choices in Asbury. And that's not even touching on Mogo, Fish, Langosta Lounge, Cubacon, etc.. etc.. off the top of my head

Just filled out an application for an apartment right across the lake in Ocean Grove. Asbury is the coolest town around for miles.

These are great. I'm looking to update the first post of next month's thread. I can put short positive reviews for each place under Nearby Food and add additional places if you guys give them to me to review. Also, anything else Kane info related would be appreciated to help out your fellow BA members visiting the brewery and area. Cheers.

The 14 1/2 from Porta is the best pizza. Not just there. Anywhere. Ever. For the uninformed that is not pepperoni in that picture. It is very thinly sliced spicy soppresata (sp?). And house made mozzarella and ricotta. Ate there twice last week. And I live 45 minutes away.

To keep this post on topic-the tap list isn't great but they always have a few local options including kane head high

We are releasing two wine barrel-aged bottles today at the brewery.

Heirloom is a Belgian-style golden ale aged in a white wine barrel with Brettanomyces then dry-hopped with Nelson Sauvin and conditioned in the bottle with a blend of Brettanomyces strains. We previously released a stainless version of Heirloom on draft but this is the first aged in wine barrels and available in bottles.

Quarter Sawn is a Belgian-style Quadruple aged in merlot and cabernet wine barrels for over a year then blended together. The dark fruit and tart flavors of the Quad compliment the red wine notes picked up from extended aging in oak.

Heirloom is $15; one bottle per person. Quarter Sawn is $18 a bottle; 4 per person limit. The brewery is open for tours and tastings from 12-7 today.

No bourbon or stout so I'll say no.

I'm intrigued by these although it's not a style I love so if it doesn't hang around a bit, that's ok too. They are pricey, but I'm sure labor intense to make.

Meanwhile, massive amounts of empty Overhead cans piled up to be filled soon. Too bad not today though.
