My same group of five friends who each got shutout on ANTEAD a few years ago all lucked out and got bottles today. Funny how things work out sometimes.

Frustrating for some I'm sure, but this method doesn't require much effort or commitment. It literally requires two mintues of your time. No system is perfect though.

It's crazy how many FT are already up. Supply will override demand on this one though I believe and people are asking for some absurd stuff. Hopefully it'll be on tap for samples after this weekend for a while like SB and MB were for us at didn't get bottles.

While true, there are tons of transplants in this region that never update their license until close to expiration. NYC especially.

you can edit the address to match your license. I did same thing and put my billing for both spots and had to go back in and edit.

What makes this one any worse than the others that sold out almost instantly?

Yep, that's what I did - had some guidance from the very helpful people at Kane too. So mental crisis averted.

This is true. I much rather get shut out within a minute of it going on pre-sale, then get shut out after putting Saturday plans on hold, driving an hour to Kane, waiting in line, then driving back.

I'm sad, but Kane releases a bunch of killer beer every year, so there is always "next time"

I've been shut out of every online thing I've tried in the past but got this one. It's just luck of the draw and it seems you win some, you lose some. No one is entitled to beer so this way is just as fair as anything else.

How many people are going to line up next Saturday early? Assuming its going to be a pretty good amount of people (likely also people that already won the tickets and want more to trade as well as people that got shut out too).

Would guess they wait longer than a week to do it to prevent crowds and post something regarding this.

Also - i am a non-FB user. was told the posting has gotten pretty aggressive over there with butt-hurt?

Agreed. I'd much rather strike out online and not waste a second of my time.

People bitching about missing out on the online presale a have short memory, as they were likely the ones complaining when Kane ran out of Vanilla pretty early into the on-site sale in 2014.

Nothing new there. Every time a limited release happens at any brewery the salt on fb increases exponentially. It is what it is.

Those who get the bottle: best release ever!!!

Those who do not get the bottle: worst release ever!!!

These poor breweries can't win. Lol...

Pretty spot on. It seems that the people who got it love the system and the people who didn't get it feel this is the worst system ever. At this point, if anybody was surprised that one of the most popular Kane offerings would sell out on an online pre-sale that quickly, I'd be shocked.

Is the system perfect? No it's not. But other than doing a lottery like they did for ANTEAD, I don't know of a better system. You'll have the locals say that they should do drawings based on purchases at the brewery, while out of towners want something that would make it possible for them to purchase some.

Kane is about 45 minutes away from me, so I haven't had any issues getting bottles/cans when they post on Saturdays, however with that approach, there is a lot of traffic on that road and probably not in Kane's best interest to piss off their neighbors/cops/etc. Had I not gotten Mexican Morning bottles my life would go on the same as it was before and I wouldn't have cried that it's B.S., I've not had luck in the past with their online sales/lotteries, so I was happy to get this one.

Yep. Mostly sounds like people who have never bought sought after tickets for beer before. I'm still scratching my head over people consistently missing on this stuff. I had never tried to get Kane pre-sale tickets before but I haven't ever missed on tickets I wanted for a beer event or release so long as I was at a desktop with working internet.

Personally preferred this over the lottery. Its basically luck of the draw just like the lottery without having to wait around for the results. Only unfortunate part for me was I had a quiet morning leading up to noon... than at 11:58 I had 3 people walk up to my desk.. Next time I know I have to go hide away in a side room with my lap top haha.

Would have loved to get it but the fact that I did not will not end my world! The complaints on Facebook confirm to me that people have grown up with ridiculous senses of self entitlement. They deserve X amount of bottles because of Y reasons and have been a fan for Z years but are no longer going to buy anything blahblahblah.

Regardless of if you personally thought the pre-sale was a good idea or bad idea, one should commend Kane for varying their approach. They have done the silent release, pre-announced release, Brown Paper Ticket, lottery, and now Eventbrite.

Only thing left is something similar to Bruery and Cigar City with a "club" of sorts. But then again, how one gets in to the "club" would lead to even more complaints.

How many times have you put plans on hold, driven to Kane, and not gotten one bottle or one 4pak of a release?

Agree completely, when did beer turn into this? The collecting mentality is out of control.

But if it was a lottery open for registration from 12-1, with an announcement of winners at a later time, those three people walking to your desk at 11.58 wouldn't have mattered and you would have had a 50% chance. As it happened yesterday, you had a 0% chance.
