I think $12/bottle is a bargain for this beer.

I just drank this next to a Sunday Morning Stout, and both are fantastic. I'll take Morning Bell every day though. Not nearly enough love for Kane on here. Friends of mine came down from Boston, and we hit kane for 2.5 hours, and Carton for 1.5 hours. Loved both, but said that we are insanely spoiled by having the level of beers that Kane puts out this close to home. Stop scouring shelves for 'Meh' beers put out by out of state breweries. We have world class beers 1-2 hours from your door in Ocean run by great people more importantly.

so the only way people should drink beer is to drive 1-2 hours to Kane, or hope Carton is available somewhere near them?

I love both breweries too, but this is a foolish statement.

I kinda see both sides on this, if you had your choice of driving from beer store to beer store chasing some bottle, thats being sold as $XX.XX per single, 1 per person limit and after hours of your time and gas, you have barely a 4 pack, or driving to Kane on a Saturday Afternoon with your growlers. Now if Kane had retail hours during the week, I would agree more, but since Kane is only filling growlers on weekends, it does make it less accessible.

But honestly, do what you want with your time, but I agree that many of the "chase" beers are good, but there some local beers that are just as good if not better. If Morning Bell was a beer that was regularly bottled and saw distro, than I would support his statement more, 2100 bottles will be gone today maybe? So in a way they become their own chase beer.

but that's not what the guy I quoted said. he said "stop scouring shelves for 'meh' beers." which is an utterly foolish statement

when I can buy Overhead, or Head High, or Morning Bell, without driving 2 hours+ r/t, I will, absolutely. I already do buy Boat & 077xx when I find them (not often).

saying that because they're "made in New Jersey" they're local is misleading. they're local to about 1/8th the state. Other Half in Brooklyn and Capt. Lawrence are more local to me.

I wish they would can Head High. I would buy a case without hesitation.

WOW I couldn't see how much they had left when I was there 2 hours ago, but thats impressive for Morning Bell. Get in line now for ANTEAD.

Yeah I was going to wait until Sunday to go, glad I didn't. Most people were buying their full allotments.

I am looking for a bottle. I havent been able to go down since Im working on my Basement, due to broken pipe from the winter. Anyone near Phillipsburg / Easton PA or north Jersey that can spare 1 bottle? Let me know I would greatly appreciate it.

I don't know his situation, but it was available for parts of 2 weekends, how do you know he doesn't live close and went twice to buy 6 each time?

You know what they say about assuming...

Still no reason for hoarding..Was just using that as an example. He knows damn well he isn't hitting a dozen bottles. But got them anyway. I got my 6 I will drink to and give two to a friend that couldn't make it today And give the other two to a neighbor or another beer bud. If no friends needed bottles I would of gladly left with 3 bottles. I saw plenty of peoples pics of 12+ bottles. Give me a break. Share the wealth.
Not hating or singling out..Just pisses me off people that take a shit load and screw everybody else..

That's exactly what I did and it seems I'm almost sure if zero_signal was able to get there he would've bought the 6 bottle allotment as well. No mules here but happily drinking a Morning Bell again this weekend and for future weekends too from the bottle at home. Don't hate beer appreciate my friend...Cheers!
