I will be in KC for the weekend flying Southwest so free pass to bring back bottles to IL. I already have access to Boulevard locally. Anything else special there I should be aware of distro wise? Any good huge liquor stores with craft selection or other bottle shop revs? Any brewpub recs as well? I have found 4-5 new looking places researching but don't have time for them all. Any advice really appreciated, thanks!
Gonna depend on where you are staying at in KC. MO side has a better selection of brews than KS. Lukas Liquors is the Bennys of KC. Brewpubs- Flying Saucer, Bierstation, Belfry, are usually the better ones. More info at craftbeerkc.com
Try gomers on 39th and Broadway. Get the tounge lash (beliner weisse) and definetly lumber lung (oak aged brown) Both are from a local brewery called "torn label" also look for any 4packs or bombers from mothers brewing company (out of Springfield MO) honestly their six packs will be everywhere and are great too. Crown valley makes some amazing brews as well. Do you get schlafly? If you don’t get the Tasmanian special release. Burr oak has some great stuff as well, I reccomend the saison, and 2nd shift definitly needs to be picked up. Look for the Katy.
