In starting to think the dudes that own Karbach hate Austin. I've literally heard about them being everywhere but here (except for the Growler Room, who drive down there to get it). El Paso & Lubbock might get distro before us! LOL

Absolutely. Matt can spend his money however he wants. It is a bit insensitive, in my opinion, to boast about getting 2 cases when several folks were upset that they couldn't find any. It just adds insult to injury. Get two cases? Cool. Keep it between yourself and the folks you're hooking up. That is very generous of you and I'm not frowning upon that. Boasting / bragging, on the other hand, doesn't really contribute to this community or any other online community

 

It's just funny, yes I bought by normal person standards, a fuckton, but at the same time, its going to people like Lutter, Michael78747, E Dubb, Clonies and a few others. While I don't have to justify my purchases, its funny that people automatically equate the ability to purchase quantities with hoarding, even though that couldn't be further from the truth.

Hoarding is negative and has a built in "I'm not gonna share my precious with anyone" mentality, that just plain sucks. I don't buy beer because I'm an alcoholic, it's because I like all my friends to be alcoholics. lol.

I just don't see the point in getting upset because you missed a release. Trust me, I love craft beer and chase every release, but I don't get my feeling hurt just because I miss out on one.

I work offshore so there are plenty of releases I'm not home for. Luckily for me I have a wife that will run to a store for me and I have became friends with other BA members who are willing to help me out in a jam.

I don't mind seeing Matt post up picks of his hauls and I enjoy the running joke about releases being Chow'd. Matt is a good guy, who does a lot for other people. Please note, I'm not defending Matt because he helps me out with releases. I know he is genuinely good guys that takes care of his friends.

 

Unfortunately, the typical redditor perceives that as humblebragging and worries more about the impact rather than chow's intentions (which we know are good). Massive difference between what Matt's doing versus douchebaggy humblebragging which does happen here.

Redditors tunnelvision a lot and expect you to justify that kind of behavior; just part of the multiple flaws I find with that community's culture in general, so it's just something to keep in mind sadly.
