Compared to when you had it on tap at HM, what do you think?

I wouldn't be surprised if it's a totally different beer Tap vs. Bottle, I've sadly seen that before where it tastes way better on tap and, like shit from a bottle.

I think he was referring to the original "test batch" of RITH from about a year ago. Think it was only at Hay Merchant.

Personally if you're striking out on this don't worry, You're not missing anything.

Go get some Barn Burner and drop a shot of cheap white wine in it - Done.

This makes 005 look good and it's nowhere near 003 or 002.......I'm ready for 006 now.

Your recipe lacks the key ingredient of 22oz of RAR, bro.

Got 2 bottles headed my way... when I get a chance to try one, I'll let ya know my thoughts.

I'm a huge Barnburner fan...this one takes a beer that I love and switches it up just a tad. Subtle oak, but great citrus+white wine dryness. Love it. I'm back and forth whether trying another tonight or finishing my last two EnjoyBy's before I leave to Vegas.

FYI CM Westheimer still has a few. My suggestions is if you enjoy barn burner then you should like this. It's a nice twist on it adding some complexity without going crazy. I think it's great!

I feel it worthy to note that since I haven't even tried the beer, I have no precedence on commenting about it really. Nor would I dare suggest it's sub-par. My post was complete sarcasm for those of you that are oblivious to it. Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

The original batch was served at two locations: Whole Foods Waugh and Flying Saucer. Unfortunately, the WF one was infected due to a bad keg (or cask? I can't remember), and not the beer itself. The Flying Saucer downtown cask was served during their tap takeover.

I really enjoy barn burner. For my $15 I just think I'd rather have two 6ers of BB than one bomber of FUN 04.

Had this yesterday at Petrol for dinner, and let me just say that I was actually impressed with this beer. While I do agree it is no 003 or 005, it does deserve merit on how complex such a smooth drinking beer like this has. It is the perfect summer beer for its light character, but you can definitely pick up on the white wine characters. It is not overbearing on the barrel character and you can still taste the base beer which is important for me. I feel this would be better fresh than with age.

    Cheers to another great beer!

Hay Merchant most definitely had Chardonnay barrel Barn Burner last year. I have notes on it.

I'm pretty sure there was Rodeo Clown aged in some type of wine barrels at the Sugar Land Flying Saucer Beerfeast.

I just don't remember what type.. maybe it was the Merlot.. I do remember not loving it. I wasn't a huge Bodacious fan either though.

Karbach sure loves Wine Barrels... Speaking of that Montrose Kroger & W. 43rd/Ella Kroger just got in 2 cases each of 004. Montrose Spec's has it's 2 cases as well.
