Karbach FUN 007 - BBA Hellfighter

Yeah There had better still be some on the shelves in Houston on Tuesday next week.

 

I saw it on the shelves in two places in Katy this week, the SPECS on Katy/Fort Bend and the HEB on Pin Oak.

 

Not looking to threadjack, but anyone have a good idea how I can get 004 & 005? Trying complete the set for a tasting. I had 004, but some drunk guy must have had it all.

Any help would be appreciated. I could do a trade with east coast (Philly) distro, I travel there a lot.

 

004 was not good... I get needing it for a tasting, but you will rue having to trade for it. lol

 

FWIW I liked 004 (not my favorite but was good) and a small group of non craft beer drinkers liked 004 over 005 and 006 when I did a mini vert. (I disagree with this but just putting it out there.)

 

I had it with about 2 months on it and it was a buttery mess. Not sure if that's what you got out of it or how fresh you had it.

 

2 bottles of 007 in the cooler at Specs in Kemah.

 

Had fresh, with a couple months, and just a few weeks ago.

 

If I still had one, I'd pass it your way. Sounds like you are a fan.

 

Saw at least 6 or 7 at Whole Foods this morning

 

Had some on tap at Whole Foods Sugarland today. In town to see the Texans go 2-9 so the beer scouring is the star of the trip. Also picked up some Mother in Lager.

I liked 004 way more than I thought I would... and a bunch of fancy smancy wine drinkers I shared it with were all googoo over it. Silly wine drinkers. Anyway, it changed the perspective about what beer can be for a few people.

I also saw 007 at Smith Street Specs today. There were only a couple of bottles left. I didn't pick one up as I have three, so I thought I'd share more of the love. My friend did pick one up. He hadn't bought any yet.

 

I went in expecting to like 004. I was wrong. Not for my palate...

 

I like 004...the white wine dryness plus the Karbach-saison spiciness is very prevalent. I gotta say though, it doesn't taste as well cellared as it did at release and a couple months after.

 

Anyone had a 001 Bodacious recently? Getting tempted to open one of mine before my vert during Christmas holidays. It'd leave me with one left.
