A thread complaining about bottles that actually have a date printed on them.

Not every beer can be Stone Enjoy By XX.XX.XX.

I know, it is a silly thread and I do not expect it to be of Enjoy By caliber, but dang.... that little imprint on the side of the label. You have to squint, hold it just right, and hope that it is somewhat legible.

Just be glad they didn't put the code in some weird-ass format like Anchor and Weihenstephaner.

Who are the ad wizards that came up with this one?

Speaking of bottle dates, anyone know the freshest batch?

The sales people at Specs think I'm some crazy loon by always holding up bottles of Hop Stoopid to the lighting to try and find the obscure code marking.

Yea, I don't understand that process. When/if I buy milk/sour cream/yogurt, etc the date is always clearly marked. Beer-bring your reader glasses and a Boolean calendar in your back pocket..
With the TABC regulating labels (another discussion altogether) could we not get a standard dating system?

And I still don't understand the "drink by" dates for Real Ale and other breweries. Their "Best by" dates seem to be a bit random. If someone can clarify please do...

    Julian.

But now I'm chuckling at the idea of a "Boolean calendar."

    It's a day! It's not a day.

The last couple of bottles I've looked at haven't had any date printed on them at all.

On the left it's 04/13/14, on the right who knows.
