I looked for an old thread dedicated to this brew but was unable to find one. And since the OG "Karbach All Inclusive" thread is locked, here we go.

Hopadillo has been a mainstay in my fridge but I am afraid that may be changing. I have always found it to be a good IPA to have on hand and I can always find it fresh, but the past two six packs I have picked up (both within a couple of weeks canning date) have just been a mess. The first honestly tasted like budweiser with some hops thrown in, and the latest sixer I picked up just seems to be a mess. None of the hops are very discernible and the brew simply does not taste very 'fresh'.

Has anyone else noticed a change with this beer?

I haven't noticed it out of the can because I don't buy it. Too many other decent IPA's to choose from. But I continue to get it on draft and haven't noticed a thing different

It very well could be a canning issue.

Drinking one right now. Poured from a can, and it is excellent.

Knowing the people behind the product and their concern for quality/attention to detail, I don't see there being an issue with their process in brewing or packaging their best seller.

Additionally, I've had no one in store mention anything about Karbach, at all, or Hopadillo, in particular.

I would look at what you had to eat/drink before or with the beer each time. What were you doing? Is there something that could have impacted you and your perception?

Share with a friend who's equally enthusiastic about the beer and see if they feel the same way. Don't "poison the well" by telling them of the issue ahead of time. Just let them taste it and see if they get the same issue. If that is the case, reach out the brewery and they will surely have insight.

Also, peoples tastes do change. Along with what you eat, or your mood, your palate changing is more likely than the product changing that much.

Had one this past weekend, thought it was still pretty tasty.

I drink Hopadillo all the time and I have not noticed a dropoff. I think the latest batch I have had was brewed in Oct.

tpgraham: shoot me a message at [email protected] if you still feel you are having issues with the beer. We feel that the new system is producing more consistent product, but would love to get more specifics about your Hopadillo experiences!

    Cheers!
