I thought about starting an Everything Karbach Thread but wasn't sure how well that would go over since Karbach is limited to just the Houston Market. So I made this thread instead. Karbach just announced via Facebook the return of their Smoked Doppelbock, Pontificator, this January. Pontificator Smoked Doppelbock will return this January. We just couldn't wait any longer to show you the artwork.
I was pretty late to the craft beer scene so I haven't gotten a chance to try this one yet but I'm looking forward to it also. These guys have been doing some great things since they opened last year, and I'm looking forward to what is still to come.
Needed a little more body for me. I know they are not smoked but I prefer Wolfgang and The Kaiser. I did the the smoke on it was just the right amount. Not to much it was just right.
Wolfgang is the definition of average to me and the more I have The Kaiser, the more I hate it. Just sickly sweet and solvent like booze. Wait, that is just about everything Avery does that is over 9%, just my opinion
I've had this at Karbach... it's really good and I LOVE Dopplebocks! Excited for this one... and hoping there's enough of it to keep it from being a chase to get..
I thought the Jester King lawsuit took care of the TABC definitions of lager, ale, and malt beverage?
