Karben4 Releases and Updates

I am sure I am late to the party here. But I noticed that fantasy factory bottles now have bottled on dates. When did this happen?

 

I hold back on fully liking Dragon Flute and FF for the same reason though I'm struggling to articulate it. Not sure if it is the malt or bitterness but it they don't quite hit the spot for me

 

I think Black Husky Pale Ale also deserves to be in the conversation for best WI APA IMO

 

Does idiot farm coming back next week, mean dragon flute will no longer be in bottles?

 

Hopefully it's popular enough to stay year-round. From the Isthmus article in this thread:

Every time this thread gets bumped I get excited thinking its time for Idiot Farm, but no.

Edit- well check that out, turns out it is time for Idiot Farm.

 

And it's getting distro this time too!

 

Might just have to get me some of that...

Next release in the Brewer Series is Risqué Eureka. Jeff brewed this India red ale using only Eureka hops. Tapped Thursday June 23rd at 11am.

Not trying to threadjack, but I've been meaning to give Karben4 a shot (I just usually get distracted by something else I can't usually find in IL when I'm browsing beer in WI); as a big IPA guy, would people say my start should be with something like FF?

 

Definitely, start with Fantasy Factory, I'd say its one of my favorite IPAs coming out of Wisconsin. If you also like IIPA's I'd check out Idiot Farm, or if you like APAs go for Dragon Flute.

Or just try all three.

 

Cool, maybe I'll just base it on what I can find freshest. If all 3, I'll start with FF like you said.

Dragon Flute --> Fantasy Factory --> Idiot Farm would be a nice progression from PA --> IPA --> IIPA for what will hit distro.

Tokyo Sauna is another great PA if you visit their taproom but doesn't get distro (yet).

 

On a flight back to Madison. I'm assuming plenty of Idiot Farm bottles at the brewery for purchase... anyone know for sure that they are still around before I take a slight detour over there?

 

Don't know about the brewery, but it was distro'd this year, so you can find it in bottle shops. Got mine at Steve's Mckee today. I'd call your favorite east side shop and see if they have some.

 

Just went by and they aren't doing bottles at the brewery this year. Should've called. They have plenty at Steve's? Live in Oregon so will probably try there tomorrow.

 

Grabbed Fantasy Factory (initially got an old sixer, so I had to go to another place and grab a fresh one). Did not disappoint, excellent beer!

 

Is it just me, or is Idiot Farm about 30-40% less expensive this year?

No complaints here.

 

What was the cost for the 4-pk?

 

Any body know if we'll see any in MKE?
