What are the economics of trading away a KTG 2011? I have one bottle and am unclear what the exchange rate should be for this rarity. My current "white whale" is Citra DIPA. Thanks!

A 2011 Kate could definitely land a couple Citra when it is available. I think you probably wouldn't have to give away that much for Citra though. I think the trade value of all Kate vintages plummeted with the 2012 release. Seems to be a prevailing sentiment that Kate is overrated now, although I disagree.

FWIW, 2011 was my favorite Kate vintage by far. It was damn near perfect on tap at the brewery but I don't think the bottles hold up that well. I know it was well higher in ABV than the others and had a much stronger malt background so if any of them aged well, it would be that vintage.

2012 Kate took a Huna for me last year, which was trading pretty well itself. I agree it should take much less than this for Citra, you should be able to get that with most other limited releases in New England!
