I did very well, the husband/wife I was with though managed to get 17 though. Actually wish the forums had been up when all this happened....

You still benefitted mightily, so I'm not sure why you're so upset. Collectively you and your gf should have gone 4 for 30.

This thread has reminded me why I am no longer very active on BA, y'all a bunch of whiners. You take the fun out of beer, and that is hard to do.

Awww Gritty ... there are still the few of us who love beer for what it is and don't whine ....

It sucks that you didn't have more winners, but random does mean random. And that means there will be both winners and losers in clusters. Sure, sometimes randomness seem unfair to those that come out on the short side of the odds, but them's the breaks. If that's enough to sour you on the whole process, so be it. But to somehow imply that the random lottery was something other than random doesn't make a lot of sense.

Oh, I'm not mad or anything. We each got a bottle and one extra to share as a group so I'm satisfied. I just don't see myself running down there next year for another 38 dollar 11oz beer. Headed down to P-brew this afternoon to hand in my second chance tickets and enjoy some great beer and food.

Don't be so dramatic. A few of us are a little put off by the whole situation, but nobody is crying themselves to sleep over it, I hope. Well, except for the guy went 8-30, you have no business being even slightly upset.

What's worse, the people who whine, or the people who whine about the whiners?

Are you seriously complaining when you got 8 of 15 and she got 0 of 15? Wow.

Look at what is happening to re-sale of tickets and how the winners vs. losers are obvious even before scratching. That is a complete failure and really sucks.

It sounds like he was more upset at the way the tickets were handled rather than his results.

This is the rule issue ^

Ah, yes, perhaps. If that's the case, then yes, I would say most people are on his side that the winning ticket distribution was fucked up. However, this same thing happened last year. As far as the tickets and being able to know which ones are winners or not, that's just pathetic and a big time no-no by Portsmouth.

Question for the lucky have done Kate day previously...do people waiting in line that morning open any beers to share with fellow line-waiters? Given that neighborhood, I'm not sure this would be allowed. Sure would be great, not sure if it's allowed.

The last time I went was 2009 I believe (or was it 2008? I forget). Anyways, there was no drinking outside. It is probably illegal since people line up on the sidewalks of a street. Its not in an industrial park or anything like that like Three Floyds.

Totally illegal and totally does not happen. Portsmouth Brewery is literally right in the middle of a small city. As it is the line is blocking the sidewalk and other storefronts...

Sorry I wasn't clear. I was upset seeing a lot of people around me going 0 for 15 or 0 for 30. I was upset at the handling of the entire scratch ticket day. I was not upset with my personal results.

This will be my fourth Kate Day. Always has been both the biggest PIA and the best beer day of the year. This year I can grab bottles for some friends, and that makes it all that better.

Oh okay, my apologies for interpreting your post wrong. It seems like this happened last year too though. Some people said they went 0-60 or or 0-45.
