Just so happens the best tasting beer in the universe also has the lowest bottle count and is in 12 oz bottles.
    It's the perfect beer storm.

The other thing people aren't realizing is that Mike brews this beer by himself and it takes him somewhere near 25 hours to do it. On top of that they had to get old pappy 20 barrels that aren't cheap and they aren't a billion dollar brewery. All of these things factor in to the amount of this beer being brewed and put in barrels.
I imagine they brew this more to appease us than to make money. Because God knows they make a hell of a lot cash on sue then they ever will on kbbs.

only # I would question is the number of people who have it, are on BA, and wouldn't trade it. my sense is that a lot of these bottles simply get traded around back and forth multiple times before anyone brings themself to being able to open it

I'll continue to think its funny that people get mad at those who decide to trade their beer in lopsided deals where they are the ones REPLYING to the lopsided offer.

Ooooor....maybe they are just some fucking awesome trade partners who prefer to hook their long-term trade partners up without asking for anything "monster" in return?

Fortunately for me, @12tb is not one of them AND he happens to be my fucking awesome long-term trade partner.

Regarding those dozens, I almost find it difficult to blame them as they didn't ask for these wild offers. I've stated before that I think those people who offer up these crazy combos are really one of the things that is wrong with trading. Of course, it's completely out of my control what people are willing to give up. The problem I have is that they get called "generous", but at the same time people shun those who are looking for similar trades on the other side as trying to "win".

I look at both - those who try to maximize FT, and those who are ridiculous with their ISO - with equal disdain. Combined they've ruined trading beer.

This is what I've been thinking all day. It's not anyone who has a KBBS fault that people are posting crazy FT. And I don't think most people that have them don't realize they're great offers, it's just that they don't want to trade them. No one is entitled to this beer. Just because your crazy FT didn't get bites doesn't mean you can bitch and moan about how people are holding onto them. That person probably wants to drink it too!

I was fortunate enough to get one this year. I did not get one last year nor have I tried it before. The offer could be 4x BVDL plus DQ and I wouldn't give it up. I want to drink the beer. I feel like most feel the same way. Well said @mythaeus

your threads are being deleted bc you're making too many. you're supposed to edit your first one instead of quickly creating a new one.

I understand your frustrations as the moderation policy here...varies wildly

No I made 1 and deleted it. Then made another which got deleted so I made a third. I would understand if I made multiple. Currently I have no thread because everything is deleted lol

I think they view that as basically the same thing. by deleting your old thread and creating a new one, you go to the top of the page, which is behavior they probably don't want to encourage

There's a watch movement on the forum reporting posts deemed as 'bumping' which is deleting and reposting so your listing is on page 1. Not saying this is your intention as you described here, just explaining what's been happening to most of these things.

Give yourself a 12-24 hr period before starting a new one.

KBBS is really, really good. So is MD. That said, I can't help be a bit turned off by the whole beer trading scene at this point. It seems like it's just a constant war for the latest and greatest beer and it's led to a lot of really sketchy moves by people who buy beer just to trade it away/flip it for something else...and I know it's not exactly a new phenomenon. I understand the desire to try the "best" beers, but the fact is, many of them are unattainable due to the ridiculous precedent set in the trading forum (by both parties, those trading and those seeking). Maybe we should just enjoy the beer we have ready access to, find ourselves fortunate when we stumble upon the "rare" beer or have it shared with us, and if we go out of our way to obtain a rare beer in person, actually drink it ourselves or share it with a friend, not ship it to a stranger across the country! Yeah, I know some of you will think that's a lame idea, but that's where I'm at right now. Living in Utah has further solidified my opinion .

I'm in agreement with you for the most part, but lets be honest, in this world people covet what they can't have and are willing to go to extraordinary lengths to get these things. Whether it be power, money, sex, happiness, or in this case...beer. Sad really.

Unless it's different from last year, $12.

Ok a 15 dollar beer. 12 oz.............. 200 dollar offers out there.

Decide for yourself. I mean if you're rich and money means little to you, and for some reason you "need to drink this beer", have at it I guess. But if you're doing it for bragging rights, 99% of your friends either won't know WTF you're talking about or won't care. The ones who do know will, laugh at you for spending that much money on a 12 oz beer.

At the end of the day, it's all a personal decision. I,opt, out.
