KBS 2017 in California

Excellent points. I was not able to find High-Westified before six packs and green glass and the price point and format was more in line with the overall market back then but you are right. Lean production and economies of scale could produce a profit, however, the general consensus seems to be the price point was much lower than it could have been and it's hard to argue they did not, at a minimum, leave money on the table.

 

umm. i saw City Beer had a few cases of Parabola yesterday. so it's around.

I was just at CBS and didn't see any Parabola or KBS, but plenty of Waldos.

 

Parabola was on the floor behind the register yesterday (CBS). did you ask for it?

today, Twitter market had all 3, Waldo, Parabola & KBS. KBS is not out, have to ask for it.

 

I didn't know they were hiding them.

 

Bine and Vine got his KBS 4pks this afternoon. Going to guess that means the other shops either got it today as well or else will tomorrow here in sunny san diego.

Aside from BevMos, at least 1 CostCo and at least half a dozen bottle shops where it pretty much came and went the same day? Nope....must not be getting to us.

 

My bad, visiting from the east coast and was hoping I'd luck out with my timing. I remember a few years back where parabola would last on shelves for more than a few hours out here. Guess I'll just have to hope I can score some when I go back east later this week.

 

to be fair if that's about CBS, they are not really 'hidden' unless your short enough to not see over the counter. i saw them right away.

 

Oh it is still around on shelves as well as inside CostCos (remember, or maybe you didn't know since you are visiting but you don't need a membership card to purchase alcohol from a CostCo). The bottleshops are the ones where it came and went since their allocations were lower than the bigger stores.

 

That's pretty lame. It's not like KBS is that special.

I found it in a number of grocery stores last year just by walking in. But somehow it seems to be very elusive this year. Is it somehow more limited / in demand? Or is the scarcity just because it's just been released?

 

Is it because I'm a couple DIPAs to the wind, or is this is a weird thread? Just read it from beginning to end and tell me I'm wrong.

 

of course you saw my multiple posts that San Francisco Costco had bottles this morning, no limit? i don't get the impression it's scarce.

it's not out at on the floor @ Twitter cause they only received 2 cases total but were anticipating at least 8 of the 4pks plus ordered/ requested the .750s & received none. not trying to justify their doing so but they have their reason & i understand.

Last year - the first year Founders was in Cali - I remember there was a big scramble to find KBS. I bought all I could the first two times I came across it and then bought a few here and there when the prices were good then passed it up. Hopefully the same happens this year.

 

I did see it but not all of us have memberships! But for those who do, cheap Parabola + KBS is an awesome find.
