... and those of us with atrocious amounts of outstanding, high-rate student loans appreciate you for this. As does the federal government, who is justified in gouging us on said loans since folks take egregious amount of loans that they will never be able to repay to go on $10,000 vacations. But, you know, that's like you're journey, man.

That said, take the $8.50 and buy some beer. A poor college student who is concerned enough not to spend $8.50 on beer deserves a treat from time to time.

I don't get the vitriol here. Nothing I did during my (long-ago) college career has affected your student loans by so much as one red cent. I repaid my loans in full and on time, including the ~$600 (yes, you read that right) I spent on my two spring-break vacations. If you (or anyone else) have no hope of repaying your student loans, then my best advice is "Don't borrow the money."
Sounds like a quantity vs, quality problem to me. Priorities, man.

I wouldn't give KBS the beginner mark. Too many things going on, including bourbon, chocolate and coffee. For the average beer drinker, that is three too many.

If you decide to drink it and aren't a big fan of the flavors, its time to cut it with some maple syrup. I think its about 1-2 teaspoons per bottle (12oz) and congrats you've just made CBS, arguably one of the best beers in the world.

KBS ages well, so buy a bottle and decide later? Try some other stuff in the meantime and decide whether you have any interest in stouts or not.

If not, hold onto the bottle and trade it.

KBS is good but I am not so sure that it is where to start. It is very expensive and in my opinion there are many choices out there that are much less expensive and although different I consider just as good and many better than KBS. I consider KBS an annual treat but I also see it as a "has been".
