Just dropped in. Picked up the second to last bottle. The person I spoke with wasn't aware of any Black Note info.

Yeah, they're supposed to be doing a Founder's Day around that time. I think they're also getting a keg of Curmudgeon

Whole Foods Fort Lauderdale also has KBS. You have to ask somebody in the beer section for it or go to the cheese counter. $5.99 per bottle, 1 per person, just like Total Wine. No idea how many they have but probably not much.

TW in Pembroke Pines still had a case of KBS left.

On related note to my post yesterday...I'm currently drinking a BCBS (just to compare) and I can't even describe how much better of a beer this is over KBS and we were able to buy 4pks of it. The 1 bottle baloney isn't worth what's in the bottle. KBS tastes like it's been cellared already. There is very little barrel unless you drink it at room temp, it's just not complex, but hey, maybe that's what they were going for. It's still great beer, I just wouldn't go crazy looking for it

Anywho, I'll lend my worthless $.02 on Friday when my Black Note arrives.

I at one point liked KBS better, but I am now firmly in the BCBS > KBS camp, and it's not close. This one bottle madness just turns me off even more compared with being able to get multiple cases of BCBS and variants with no difficulty at all.

That kind of sucks but I'm still happy I got two bottles to try. It wasn't too hard, 40 minutes of driving, but yeah last year I got 3 four packs of BCBS with no trouble.

i personally preferred the last two years of KBS over the BCBS, at least fresh. we'll see about this years batch.

Wouldn't a better comparison be KBS and BCBCS?

going by the whole BBA stout with coffee thing, yes. but imo, BCBCS is far superior.

I agree. I don't even bother with KBS anymore. Very thin, and the Barrel is almost non-existent fresh, but if you age it you get more barrel but then lose the coffee.

Someone gave me a '14 bottle, and I'll drink it, but I won't be chasing or spending money on this beer anymore.

Well if BCBS is better, then BCBCS is going to be even more...er.....better? Sounds grammatically wrong but you get the idea.

Actually I'll say it like this. If the difference in quality between BCBS and KBS equated to 50 points in favor of BCBS, then we can safely assume the quality between KBS and BCBCS will equate to at least 51 points in favor of BCBCS.

I guess, and people often bring this up, but I feel like KBS and BCBS are more similar in terms of historical availability and ratings. BCBCS vs KBS is like Mike Tyson vs Woody Allen, not even fair IMO.

But the coffee counts as the difference, not availability. As we well know, rarity has approximately nothing to do with flavors or ingredients.

Got my 3 bottles of KBS. Was hoping to hit another TW today and complete the 4 pack, but was running late. I wish I had some more BCBS or any of the Bourbon County series to compare, but for now gonna enjoy 2 of my KBS sometime soon and put one aside to age for later.

I hear you, but my point is that I don't think BCBCS vs KBS is actually a debate. I can't recall ever hearing someone say that KBS is better, so what's the point of the discussion? On the other hand KBS vs BCBS is a legitimate discussion with many people on either side.

Don't even drink it. I drain poured one last night. Put it away for a year so it can become acceptable in some fashion.
