KBS bottle availability in DC/NOVA

Rodman's in NW DC was gouging for $10/bottle yesterday and sold out.

 

I was driving home from North Carolina yesterday and stopped by Total Wine McLean on the way home. They were selling 4 packs and sold out in a hour. You know a beer is desirable when a thread appears AFTER people have already sold out. Well played non-ba's. I hear all the places near dupont are expecting later in the week but I haven't got word on how much they're charging or selling each customer.

 

Anyone know if Magruder's or Chevy Chase got theirs yet?

 

Wow -- that's a departure from the last couple of years. They usually restrict to one bottle per limits.

I know WF Fair Lakes hasn't received any yet. None of the other spots I frequent have received any either. Was going to call my local Total Wine store around noon today.

 

I was surprised too. I thought Total Wine's would resort to 2oz. pours from the bottle.

 

Those mf'ers. I work in Montgomery County, so it takes me about 30 minutes or so to drive to TW McLean, so I obviously called first to see about delivery, allotment, etc. When I called in the morning a guy said they were selling single bottle allotments from the 3 cases they received. So I passed on making the trip over there for a single bottle, but realize now I could have gotten a 4 pack? Sucks for me I guess.

 

I heard there is already some guys waiting in line at Norms...haha. KBS will be gone before it even makes it into the store, Norm will just hand it out right from the back of the truck. There is probably already a line at Norms for KBS anyway...haha.

 

This made me laugh. I like Norm, but that place is going to be a shit show tomorrow.

 

Two bottles left at TW Sterling. Probably safe to say most TWs are going to be out soon. Thinking WF-area stores are set to get their allotment tomorrow.

 

That was fast. I called at 11:15 before heading out for lunch and they told me the delivery hadn't been received yet.

 

A great beer, but the chase is not worth it. Pick up Epic Big Bad Baptist for $10 / 22oz. Might be life changing man. Not even kidding, and it's easily found around town. Anyway--happy hunting!

 

TW Springfield had 9 bottles left when I called around 10:15, so I'm sure they're out by now.

 

Granted they're both Barrel aged coffee imperial stouts, but BBB is MUCH more coffee dominant.

 

That is a bit ridiculous. KBS is good, but to sit outside an entire day for it? To each their own, but that is not worth it to me.

 

Just called TW Sterling and they're out.

 

I've heard reports that those scumbags at 1 West DuPont are selling bottles for $20.99.

 

Just popped into 1 West for the first time see the legendary prices with my own eyes. They are selling for $19.99 a bottle, but are waiting on another case. What they have left is all reserved. Couldn't pull the trigger, even though I am desperate to land a limited release for once.

 

Friday around noon for chevy chase, potentially thurs afternoon for Magruders

 

Called Whole Foods Old Town and they said that they received a couple cases yesterday and sold out out almost immediately, even with a 1 bottle limit.
