As of this morning, Magruders said they will have it on Friday morning, unless you have heard an update more recently. Magruders also has a list going, and I was told they are going to do 2 bottle allotments. Supposedly they are only getting one case, when they initially thought they were getting 2 or maybe 3 cases.

Does Chevy Chase do a list or is it first come first serve?

I am on the list for Magruders, I was originally told they would be sold as 4 packs. This was on Monday thou.

 

Yeah, as of this morning Magruders said they were going to do 4 packs like they normally do, but when their allotment got reduced to the 1 case, they decided to knock it down to 2 bottles per, so they could at least get some to everyone on the list. I was fortunate enough to be a late entry on the list.

 

Yeah, they said by noon on Friday. List is full. 12 people w/ 2 bottle limits.

 

I'm 15th on the list if the get more than one case. Didn't know they did lists. I'll have to remember that for the future.

 

Maybe they should sell it for 49.99 a bottle, just for fun.

 

At least there's somewhere you can go in the area and get KBS if you want it without having to take off work, wait in a parking lot and be an obnoxious dick to the people who work at the store.

 

This. It's a good beer, but there's too much other good stuff out there to worry about it. Plus, it's not all that hard to trade for.

 

This doesn't surprise me at all. I remember signing up for their call list when Hopslam was being released. The day they got it in, they called to tell me that they were selling it at $10 per bottle, and then tried to get my credit card info so they could "hold it for me". Needless to say, I declined. Although they do have a pretty nice selection of beer, I refuse to give this shop my business.

 

I don't know if you saw my note on another page, but there are still some of that Hopslam sitting there, not refrigerated, trying to sell for 10 a bottle.

 

Westover put theirs out today around lunch time. 2 bottles per at $8.50 each.

 

I love KBS, but if you are looking for a really excellent substitute, try for Three Brothers Resolute, shit that is good, 13.5% RIS, aged for 10 months in bourbon barrels. To date, it's my favorite beer of 2014.

From what I have heard/seen most places are getting about 1-2 cases max of KBS. It will be hard to get a couple of bottles. With Founders expanding their footprint, and not really able to keep up the demands of KBS, this may be the case going forward. I guess if you really want it bad enough, head to Grand Rapids for KBS week.

 

Whole foods Clarendon got and sold out of theirs yesterday as well. I got a bottle of resolute that I'm gonna age for a bit. I heard they'll be more coming into the area at some point

 

That's ridiculous.

 

That's what Aaron said last night, I know Whole Foods Foggy Bottom got one case and sold out quickly. If you can get another bottle of Resolute age the one you have, but it is drinking great as is. Visited them a few weeks ago, they have some really cool barrel aged stuff.

 

This KBS stuff this year is ridiculous. Might just be easier to trade for a 4 pk than try to buy it anywhere.....
