Can you tell by the bottle what year the bottle is or is it just on the case?

Bottle dates are stamped on the neck of the bottle. They can be hard to read and sometimes smudged. I cannot recall if this years was stamped with yellow ink or not.

This got me all excited, went to check the necks and can't discern any kind of date. :slight_frown:

Instead of starting a new thread, anyone know what a bottle typical goes for or a case? If I miraculously found a case I'd probably buy it, but more likely just trying to find a bottle or 2. Luckily I do live less than 10 minutes from the Founders distributor for eastern PA if I'm remembering correctly, but idk if PA even gets much. If you can't tell, this is my first year for this release.

The 2011 KBS still used black ink. If the ink didn't get rubbed off, it should be stamped right bellow the small label that is on the neck. My 2010 bottle was stamped on the back, and my 2011 was of the side and pretty smudged.

Both right below the neck label though?

It should cost around $120 for a case and $20 for a four pack. Many places enjoy jacking up the price on KBS, because they know someone will pay $10 a bottle for it.

Correct, the 2011 had a little bit under the neck label.

I have some RIS from last year, and it is impossible to read. I can't see indentation from the printing(usually I breath on the bottle too but no luck there either). However once I poured the bottle, it was clearly there when I looked into the light through the bottle.

Awesome, found the date on the bottle that mattered. Thanks!

Best way to find the date codes on most black ink on brown bottle date codes: Fog glass with your breath, gently wipe away fog and hold bottle at angle to bright light, turn and repeat until you find it. (I keep a bright LED pen light attached to my key ring for this very purpose)

If you know the date code is high on the neck, hold the bottle up to a light source at about a 25* angle (so the length of the neck has no beer in it) and turn until you find it.

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I noticed on the bottle itself below the label there is an "02 12" on my 2012 bottle. I have another bottle with "02 09" as well. I'm just checking in to make sure that is an actual bottle date, I did some research and couldn't find anything about it. thanks

My 2012 KBS had a yellow ink date on the neck of the bottle, and if I remember correctly it was dated 2/26/12 or somewhere around the end of feb.

My 2012's say BOTTLED 2/17/12 in yellow all other years are written in black and are really hard to read with black beer in the bottle.

My 2 bottles from this year had yellow ink that got smudged in the transfer.

I paid between $5.50 and $9/bottle, someone wanted $12 w/additional purchase. People paying $20/4pk is the exception around me.

Yeah, it seems 90% of the bottling dates on Founder's stuff only stays on for like, a week.
