For those that went last year.....did they have CBS on tap that week? Timed trappings? Was it a shit show?

Yes. I was there on Thursday last year and they had CBS on tap the whole day/night. I took a pic of the board.

Edit: Sorry, forgot to answer the second part of your question. It was really busy, getting beer was not a shit show. Seating was however. This was a few months after this batch of CBS was released and the bartender made it clear to us that they had plenty of it so we didn't need to feel hurried to drink as much as we could. That being said, I think I had 3 or 4 glasses of it.

I went on Wedesday around 2 or 3, CBS all day and plenty of seating anywhere at that time.

My wife and I went to the release on Saturday last year. Getting tickets was pretty much blind luck and refreshing the page for a half hour so when tickets were removed from expired carts I was able to get two for Saturday. Picking up the beer was easy with short lines. We grabbed our beer and pulled out our phones to buy Dark Lord Day tickets since this Saturday was also St. Patricks Day. The line was pretty long to get into the taproom, but well worth it. We stood double fisting KBS and CBS until a table opened up and then were able to get drinks from a waitress. It was also great to offset the heavier stouts with an Azacca pour once in a while. I'm actually very happy to see that in bottled now! The place never got packed, but the outdoor space was also busy. Overall a great run event and a beautiful brewery. All in all, I'd go back again anytime, but I'm splurging on Huna Day ticket this year and I don't have a money tree out back...

Went on Tuesday last year. CBS was on while we were there, it was not busy getting our bottles or in the taproom. Walked right in and sat down, plenty of tables.

If I have a ticket, am I able to go to the bar with someone that doesn't have the ticket to drink and hang out, or do all attendees need a ticket?

The ticket is just for an allocation, which is handed out in a small room around the side of the building. Everything else about Founders is open to the public, business as usual, except just a little more crowded.

They broke out enough CBS that it was on constantly all week. I went on Wednesday afternoon and got (at that moment) the last available table for lunch.

The bottle release was handled beautifully. It was in a well marked room, around the side of the building, with a seperate entrance. Someone who didn't know better wouldn't have even known it was happening. When I got to the room, I was second in line.

Bottles are available from noon to 9PM over five days. That 45 hour window to hand out the all of the allocations makes it a very easy experience.

My Wife was able to get a ticket for Wed or Thurs last year. It took us about 5 minutes to get KBS (probably 10 people in line). I know I waited longer for pours at Cellar Raid a few days ago than I did during KBS release.

The last few times I've been to Founders, it's been pretty packed. That being said, I've never had to wait more than 10-15 minutes in line to get a beer.

I've also found that if the main bar has a long wait, the small bar (by the store) tends to be a good second option (although you won't typically see CBS at the smaller bar).

Also, as an FYI to those who may buy bottles for Tuesday through Friday, the current year's KBS has not been on draft until the Saturday of the bottle release week.

Yep, that's what I recall. I think I had a CBS at Founders but had to go to another local pub for KBS. Founders was sharing the KBS week love by not competing with other GR pubs. There were other timed releases around GR.

So whatever day is available at the time you're online is what you get? But whatever day you get you can pick up at whatever time during that day correct?

As fast as the tickets sell out, you almost have to commit to one of the days and go after it. By the time you try and pick another day, it's too late. Last year's ticket release saw many people getting shutout, but my wife and I lucked out and managed to get tickets. I was hoping that they'd cut this year's allotment to two four-packs, so that more people could get KBS since it's harder to find at retail (at suggested price also). Win or lose, if you go to the release, besides getting KBS or CBS, you have to get a KBS brownie. They're unbelievable.

I was there at Noon on that Wednesday. Busy in the restaurant/tavern but nothing approaching craziness. Got my fill of CBS for the first time...heaven.

You can pick it up anytime on that specific day (Noon-9pm, I believe).
