KBS Bottle Release

I think he was asking why they don't make more CBS. It hasn't been made in years.

 

The CBS tapped for Cellar Raid 2016 and this year's KBS week is the 2014 vintage. That's going to explain the different flavor profile and the reason why the coffee/chocolate notes are faded.

 

Founders has said the limiting factor on CBS is the availability of the maple syrup barrels. It was last made at the end of 2014.

 

yes, i was addressing CBS, and it was made in large quantity just over a year ago..

 

This year's bottled KBS is the best batch fresh that I can recall since 2011.

Good balance with mouthfeel, coffee, barrel, not too sweet, not too heavy, well executed this year.

 

Has any one seen any forsale in grand rapids holland area?

It hit early in Grand Rapids today. I grabbed a 4-pack from the Cascade Meijer about 10am. Heard of a number of places that had it out before lunch.

 

That makes sense. It was very maple dominated.

 

there was a small hand bottled run where employees received 2 bottles of the 14 batch for christmas I believe, I've seen a few bottles pop up in groups on facebook, few and far between in S.W. MI but there were some bottles.

 

I have to agree with you. Just picked some up yesterday. The alcohol heat is faintly there and very mild compared to previous years. This is a very well balanced batch.

 

Getting a few bottles of 16' KBS this week, excited to try it out. I saved one 15' to have it side-by-side with.

 

I drank a KBS last night. Its the best batch since '13. Its a little hot but that'll shake out soon enough and it'll be even better.

 

Best beer I had while at founders was spike cutlass. KBS was good but I was disappointed with CBS. I drank it last year when they had it on tap and it was outstanding - not sure if it is because the flavors have mellowed out over time or possibly my glass was not properly washed (had a soapy aftertaste).

 

If anyone sees any KBS around Oakland Co after you pick up yours, please let me know. I'll try and do the same

 

8 degrees is supposed to have it today at 5. I figure u will prob need to be in line by like 2 pm to get your four pack.....no thanks.

 

I second this sentiment. Hopefully some places have it in stock after 5pm.
