Has anyone else noticed that 2013 KBS is missing the "bottled date"? I pulled some 2012 bottles and they have the bottled date listed like the rest of their beers. Since the label doesn't list the release year, I'm a little concerned about future cellar confusion over which year is which. I got my bottles from three reputable shops in Grand Rapids and can't spot the date on any of them, though I haven't cracked any yet.
Mine are lacking dates as well if I remember correctly. Not gonna sweat it. 2013 is the only date I need
Missing bottle dates/easily rubbed off bottle dates are the norm for Founders I thought. Also noticed the one single I picked up the other day was missing it but didn't think anything of it.
You should be able to sort it out by looking at the labels; they seem to differ somewhat from year to year. This year's mark is probably the "flavored stout" description; we'll see what 2014 brings.
Founders bottle dates are notorious for rubbing off easily. Take out a sharpie and write 13 on the label. Pretty simple if you ask me.
The '13 label is considerably different than previous years, most notable is the "A Flavored Stout" on the front. It's usually bottled the same time every year, mid-March at some point. I wouldn't sweat it.
Alert the brewer of the issue. http://foundersbrewing.com/contact/ Mark the bottle/label accordingly; example "2013" with a Sharpie or pen and sticker.
