i don't believe i have to defend myself here, but ok. to @Pisthetaerus & @Nav71292 while the above posts don't "pump" my store on the forums, when a customer walks in, doesn't even say hello to the people at the counter and immediately walks up an says "hey do you have any kbs" usually the answer is no, especially when you never seen him before in your 30+ years in business. with that said there was no mention of "hey i was following you on BA, I'm so & so" cause to be honest you woulda left with some. there has been quite a few people that have messaged me and I've been more than happy to hold stuff for a fellow BA, but everytime they come they say HI I"M SO & SO FROM BA

And this is why I'm very tired of this secret handshake bullshit. What a terrible person @Nav71292 must be to not know your secret code of honor.

I can understand holding stuff for regulars, but lying about it is indefensible.

Most reasonable people would infer from this post they need only come and ask in person to buy some.

My point exactly. I intentionally didn't identify myself as someone from BA because you kept saying that all people had to do was come in and ask.

On top of that, you read but ignored my message I sent trying to verify that you still had some. Not so sure identifying myself would have helped. Maybe I needed a handshake within a handshake. Did you only hook up BAs you know? But this is all beside the point.

I said hello to you as I entered the store, but you were helping someone else check out. I didn't immediately ask for KBS. I browsed the coolers for a couple minutes. The woman who also works at the store walked by me as I was doing this and I asked her how she was doing and kept browsing. Then, even after I came up to the counter and asked about KBS and she lied to my face, I still picked up a couple 4-packs.

You lied in this forum about how you treat customers and then I was lied to in person. You've never seen my face because I had never heard of your store. And now that I have, you'll never see me again.

Honestly, you guys have a good selection and pretty reasonable prices. I would have loved to become a regular customer, especially so that I could support a fellow BA. But a BA you're not!

UPDATE: my buddy went and they charged him crack prices. $8.99 per with a 2 bottle limit. Sorry dudes. Only go if you're crazy desperate. I'm surprised honestly. When they hook it up with SoS it's the cheapest around ($13.99/4pk before tax). This is getting out of hand.

Very much out of hand. I don't know what's crazier... Maximum selling singles of KBS that comes to $9.61 after tax OR Liquor Depot New Britain, selling two Gandhi Bots + a plain pint glass, in an Easter Basket for $13. Really.

I actually bought one of the packs just before they closed. KBS was 4.99 in the pack, cheapest Ive seen anywhere. I love dragons milk, and have never had KBS or the victory at sea so I thought I'd give it ago. Ballast Point Victory at Sea is the shit.. no joke..

Seems like every store has something different, Im cool with it as long as you are not charging ridiculous prices.. $4.99 is pretty low from what ive been seeing.. now back to enjoying that beer...

How do you know what the price was for KBS in the pack? Did they ring it up as if you were buying 4 singles? That's certainly a fair price, but you would think they would just sell them as singles if they didn't want people getting away with 4-packs.

This is the same place that sells 2 Bot + 4 Hags for $16 (I believe that's the price point). They reason that it's so more people can try the beer, maybe so, but they're also just about doubling their profits on these releases.

It was itemized on the reciept- KBS was 4.99. Its a good beer pack- I enjoyed it last night and everything was at a fair price- so Im cool. Whether thats the best way to sell it who knows- but at least you don't need a secret handshake or some other bull to get some.

I don't have a problem with these mixed packs. It's gets harder to find beers in more people's hands and also makes it worth while for Kay's. To me, walking in and getting a bottle or two of KBS for $8+ each isn't as good as a mixed pack of good stuff and paying $5 for the KBS. If they were throwing crap in there, then maybe I'd have a problem with it.

I like Kay's a lot. I've been able to get a lot of hard to find stuff without the secret handshake BS. They're very friendly and knowledgeable about their selection and are communicate well about upcoming and new deliveries. They get my business nine out of ten times.

And BTW.....had KBS at extreme beer fest and thought it was a bit overrated. Sorry.

I just don't think you should have to buy other beers to get one "rare" beer. I'm fine with them doing the Sea Hag/Gandhi thing. I don't get this one.

I can't think of another industry where this kind of thing happens. You want this item? Well, okay, but you have to buy these three other things too.

I don't really see the difference here besides the ridiculous price point that gbot+seahag mixes are sold at. In the end both are cases of highly sought after beers being mixed with good, albeit more readily available beers.

I haven't bought one of these mixed 6 packs in a while, but I remember it being around 14.99. People seem to stretch the truth, as I am also a price savy shopper. Better than 13.99 for 2 cans of GBOT and 1 glass if you ask me..

Any body see KBS any where else in the Hartford area. Want to snag one more bottle to cellar and see how it turns out, since its my first time having this..

Picked up a bottle for $5.99 at Manchester Wine and Liquors last night, limit 1 per customer. I would give them a call and see if they still have any though prior to driving there. I called yesterday mid-day and they were more than happy to tell me they had it, without me identifying myself as a regular customer (which I am).

True, but imo people are too used to paying silly prices for gbot. Last time I bought it, it was 10.99 for a 4 pack last year. The stout 4 pack is at least at msrp for the kbs.
