Glad I got the last 4 pack at worldwide. Great place that has set markups no matter how limited the beer is. It was 20 and change out the door. I just dropped off two to my brother in law (he gets me shit tons of out of state beers). I am hoping to get one other 4 pack so we can each have our own 4 pack.

Good luck hunting everyone. Some of the prices in this thread are a joke. I might try to check Harvest in West Hartford. They usually get a decent amount of limited brews and they put limits on them to try and spread the wealth (although they tend to be a little pricey).

Holy Shit!!! That place used to be my local go-to when i lived in Middletown, glad that is no longer the case. Also, liked how they posted a pick on FB that made it look like they got 5 cases... I called, they only got one and there was a wait list there.... for shame.

-CT Beverage Mart in New Britain had a good amount left when I went this afternoon (one per person). Despite their somewhat shady practices, this was priced reasonably at $5.99 per bottle.
-M&R in Farmington was nearly out when I got my single there. They put it on sale a day early. $5.99
-Liquor Depot in New Britain was selling it in 4packs. They still had a couple left when I went, but I assume it is gone now. $19.99
-Worldwide in Southington was selling singles also. Still had a few left, despite putting it up a day early. $4.99
-Kay's in East Hartford still had around a half case left when I went this afternoon. $5.99
-Harvest in West Hartford said they didn't have it. The guy was kind of short/rude with me. I didn't ask if they were out, expecting, etc. I don't like this store anyways, so I had no problem not giving them my money.
-Southington Wine and Spirit didn't have it. Almost the exact same encounter happened here as Harvest.
-CT Beverage Mart on the Berlin Turnpike is out. Last guy got a 4pack shortly before I arrived, as I even saw it in his cart.
-Sonoma in Glastonbury didn't receive any and isn't expecting to.

Some stores have confirmed they haven't received their case yet but are expecting to, as they receive their shipments on Wednesdays, not Mondays or Tuesdays. These are stores outside of Hartford and New Haven county.

The guy that runs Kay's in East Hartford had reason to think he may get a second case, but wasn't sure. He said he would post it on Facebook if he did, just like today.

I know I'm a bit late posting this, but hopefully it's a little bit helpful.

If you work at a liquor store and you DO or DONT have it no need to be a dick about it. If you don't want people calling/coming in looking for it, dont carry it. Not that hard of a concept. Goes for plenty of limited releases.

yup. plus: don't like fielding 50 calls about limited release beer? really? it's that hard to say, "sorry, we don't have it," or "sorry we're sold out," or "check back tomorrow"? i do harder things than that *every day of my life*.

I agree that it sucks when beer store staff are rude about things like that, but if you've ever worked in customer service before you know how quickly you can get worn down from answering the same shit every 10 minutes. You're busy, you have a customer in front of you, your boss wants you to go do something and the phone is ringing constantly - a sound that might as well be as stressful as a baby crying - and it just wears you down.

Not to mention, you're probably getting paid minimum wage - or close to it - and there definitely comes a point where it's just not fucking worth it. It's not like losing a few customers will effect the dude working for $8.25 / hour

i think if the customer is a dick about it, i sympathize with the snarky employee. if not, just a polite, quick, "we don't have it," is good. tell them another store that *does* (or at least might) have it and you might win some cool points (which are good both personally and professionally).

answering the same question is annoying, but it's only really bad if 1) it's asked by the same person over and over again, or 2) it's asked rudely. beyond that, i feel like some understanding ought to be involved.

sure, it may be an annoying minimum wage job, but that's never been a reason to be a jerk. myself, i often try not-being-a-jerk free of charge (even during activities i don't enjoy).
