KBS in DC area

I did manage to find some Deviant Dales and they had growler fills of Sculpin at least. Unfortunately the cashier forgot to bag a $7 sandwhich I paid for :/. It takes me about 20 mins to drive there so looks like I might be out that money until I'm there next.

Managed to score a bottle myself (a beer buyer sold me one out of his two-bottle stash ), and on the hunt I got two more tips:

Chevy Chase Wine & Spirits - one case, tomorrow
Magruder's (down the street from there) - two cases, tomorrow

I happened to be at both of those places today when the distributor was there, and he's who told me. He also said there wasn't much allotted to the DMV (150 cases), and the majority of it went to Va.

 

Weird to have such a delay. Last year it all came on the same day, but I've got multiple stores telling me they should be getting it today or tomorrow

 

Happened to stop in there (both) today to see if I got lucky and ran into it. One of the guys at Chevy Chase said he expected to see it tomorrow and was only alloted one case. Said it probably wouldn't make it to the shelf with the number of people that have asked about it.
I promised myself I'd hold off on beer buying for a while after gonig a little overboard over the winter. Couldn't help but buy something at each place.

 

Yeah, I understand. Side note: the prices at Chevy Chase are ridiculous! I got an Allagash Curieux for $17 at Rodman's, and it was $21 at CC. (And the beer buyer was a bit of a jerk, imo.)

 

I happen to pass Chevy Chase and Magruders on occasion, so I check out what they have. I usually pick up a bottle or two at C.C., but not much. Definitely a premium. Magruders isn't as bad on prices, but not that great. That's usually the outlet for Founders, Bells and Great Lakes over C.C.

 

Chevy Chase has it in stock but you have to ask and I believe it has all been allocated to people on the list. Magruder's has it in and is actually selling it by the 4-pack.

 

How much was left? How much per 4-pack at Magruders?

 

No idea how much was left but it was 28 a four pack.

Chevy Chase only has KBS if you were on the list.

 

Is anyone heading to Magruder's generous enough to split a four-pack with me? I've been shut out on KBS so far, and I can't make it tonight.

 

Still some left at Magruders as of a couple of minutes ago. As always the beer guy was cryptic about how much was left.

 

I just got a call about it. Even if you are on the list apparently they only reserve you 1 bottle. O well, I will take what I can get .

 

Lost Dog on Wash Blvd. in Arlington has a case, one bottle limit...$10. Was there 30 minutes ago and they still have some left.

 

$10 for one bottle! I'll pass.

I love Lost Dog, but I am very disappointed if true.

Walk across the street to Westover Bier Garden, they had KBS on tap last night.

 

Are you kidding me? I was at VA Hospital this morning and thought about stopping in but thought there was zero chance they had any. That's a kick in the nuts.

 

While expensive Westover was charging $11 for a 10oz poor, compared to $10 for a 12oz bottle. I was there yesterday and tried Doom, was damn tasty. Usually Lost Dog is cheaper for their beer but the $10 was the most I've seen it for. I got one for myself, and can't wait to drink it.

 

That's pretty lame considering I got my two bottles at the Columbia Pike Lost Dog for $6 a bottle...

 

Got a phone call from Chevy Chase telling me I was allotted one bottle. Not worth the traffic or trouble to park. Had them give it to someone else. That may mean someone on the list that didn't make it, couldn't mean another bottle for a lucky customer. Give them a call.

 

has anybody come across any in/around the Dupont area? Al at Conn Ave said yesterday he hadn't gotten any yet...same w/ D'Vines, though as mentioned previously in this thread you can't always trust what they say.
