Has anyone ever gotten KBS in DC when it's in season? If it is available in the District (or nearby), I'm going to wait until the Fall and buy one myself without going through the trouble of trading with/finding someone who already has one...but if not, I want to get some stat.
...and by Fall, I think I actually mean March. Maybe I could find some that hasn't been purchased somewhere in the District since it ages well. I just worry there is none to be found. Womp womp.
Gah! Shoulda figured. So it's never distributed in DC and NOVA? Or it is but it sells out immediately? What about the MD suburbs?
Umm yeah... Its distributed in dc, been getting it for the past three years (gets harder everytime..)
I picked up 2 bottles up in DC this year, but it was a PAIN IN THE ASS to track some down, and I was expecting to get at least a 4-pack more than I did. Some stores that were expecting it in never got it.
Incorrect. It is in DC and NOVA, but I did not see any in DC-area MD. That said, it sold at almost every store in literally less than 3 hours, according to the beer guys at most of the stores I called. I only ended up getting a 4 pack because the whole foods people did not know that it was in stock until I made them check
I have picked it up at Chevy Chase Wine. They even brought more out in June out of the blue. Always a 1 bottle limit though. Founders was supposed to begin distribution in MD this past Spring. I would assume they will be in MD by next release.
I know someone that managed a case (total) of KBS this past year. He ran around to like 5 or so different stores, but wouldn't tell me where or how he got them... but all from DC and NoVA.
I was hoping the same (about KBS in Maryland), but I wouldn't hold my breath. Here's a response I received back from Founders in March: Hello John – We do hope to distribute to MD sometime in the future, but unsure of the exact timing. MD is on our radar. Thank you for your continued patience!” Maybe I’m reading too much into this, but the tone of this email doesn’t make me think we’ll be seeing any Founders in Maryland any time soon.
I was up at Founder's in early May and the bartender at the brewpub looked at my Maryland ID and said "You guys enjoying Founder's in Maryland?" I told him that we haven't received any yet and he said that we should soon. As I knew it had been planned to be released into the MD market in the Spring I figured it was pushed back later in the year. After talking to some other people around Maryland familiar with distribution it seems that there is hopes that Hop & Wine Beverage will be the one that brings Founder's into the state. Not sure on a time frame.
Yeah, that doesn't sound too promising. You would hope they would be here by next March after originally saying this Spring. You never know though.
