KBS in Houston?

Wow..... What a joke. I assumed it was 4. My apologies. Stupid.

 

I thought last year, at least a few places were selling 4-packs... did we get significantly less this year?

 

If memory serves, I thought downtown Spec's did one 4 pack per person last year. Some other places around town might have done the same, but most were selling singles / 2 per person. I could very well be mistaken though.

 

My local spot an hour out of Houston is getting 1 case next week, reportedly, so it should pop up in sugarland and such places

I heard from an HEB rep there was only 40 cases for Houston... explains the 1-2 limits everywhere if that's true.

 

I have a feeling that we may have even gotten more in Houston this year, but it seems like more places have it - as a result, it spread a bit more thin. At least, that seems to be what's happening in Austin, and it wouldn't shock me if the same were true here.

 

The HEB on 96 in League City got four cases. They were limiting to two bottles each.
The Spec's downtown seems to have only gotten 10 cases, so I am guessing that is why they are also limiting to two bottles each.

Yeeeeeaaaaaah whaAaaaaat? You can bet your sweet ass if all of these other places got 10 cases it'd be more than 2 per...

 

Limiting it to two bottles, that's still only 120 people that get it. Think of the lines and demand the downtown store gets on beer release days. I think it's more them trying to be fair.

 

A buddy of mine was able to pickup a 4 pack this evening at a liqour store in the League City/Friendswood area, he got the last 4 pack they had.

 

Yeah, i thought the HEB on 96 was going to do four packs because a vendor I ran into at Kroger said they let him get one, but they were limiting to two bottles for the general public.

I actually had to go back for something else a few minutes ago, so I asked again, but they were all sold out.

 

I think I got the last two at about 3 pm this afternoon. You had to ask for it or else you would have never known that they had any KBS. The beer guy had to get the bottles from somewhere out back. Not sure if this is a good or bad thing that stores don't display stuff at least a bottle somewhere so that folks know that its at least available although with a limit. I wouldnt have imagined that heb to have gotten KBS had I not seen it mentioned on this thread. Thoughts?

 

Normally I would agree, but they are actually on Twitter and said they were going to get some. I didn't know their twitter until someone else that was also waiting this morning told me.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm quite certain 10 cases is easily double the allocation of any other retail location.

 

All the places (not in Houston) I've gone to were selling 4packs. Out of three stores, the most any one of them got was 2 cases.

 

40 cases for Houston. That is incorrect information. 40 cases delivered March 30. Probably. In my experience, HEB beer people are mostly clueless about the total inventory and availability of Ben E. Keith special releases. Even the BEK sales reps fail to have the correct information for a distribution area. The regional buyer and the brewery have that information. Lately, more shipments of special releases have been coming in but not all at once. There may be some deliveries of KBS next week without all the fanfare and hype. The BEK salespeople will say no more available because they don't know until the product is in the warehouse. There is a lot of KBS out there. The Houston market is too big to be shorted in favor of smaller markets by Founders.

 

Austin has a shitload of KBS and stores are selling 4-packs.
