I saw it on twitter, was working from home today and walked over to do some honey-do's over at Whole Paycheck. I got there at 2:30 and they told me they had it, but would not sell it until 3:30. No thanks.

Stop by just before 4. I asked the dude behind the counter with a puss on his face, if he got it in yet. "Yeah, here." Hands me a bottle and looks away. Anyway, behind Mr. Personality was a about a case. $6.99 per

Central MA update. Stopped at Wegmans because they had it last year but some DB bought the whole case. Figured it was worth a try. Employee there said they get 1 case Thurs and it was all spoken for. I would imagine Julio's gets it same day. As far as I know they were the only two places to get it in area. I live in SE Mass and releases are usually a week behind. W&M Mansfield got some last year but it sold at like 10am or something and was gone quick. Hoping to run into 1or 2 bottles.

Northborough Wegmans? I called today and they said they aren't getting it until next week.

I stopped by Julio's yesterday, they said everything they'll get is already spoken for via Hold Cards.

How did they allow that to happen if is true? It's ridiculous how certain stores just don't care. I heard at julio's they will be putting limits on Lunch because the same guy keeps getting almost a case early in the morning.

When I called last year they said some guy bought the whole case.

Because they're a grocery store that sells beer, not a beer store.

I actually like that Wegmans is a supermarket first. Prices are great, and if you luck out on the right day and right time you can get most american and/or local craft beers the specialty places get. Scored 2 bottles of 2012 Black Ops last year

I get my fair share of beer there like most of us do but I've. Never discussed beer with the employees. They could do even better if they had a "beer guy".

Don't wanna turn this into a Wegmans thread but since MA will get like 5 cases of KBS this thread maybe useless.

I usually never ask at Wegmans but figured I would since it was for KBS and I may luck out. But they do have Dogfish WWS and Hopulence bottled in March. Plus BAFH is on sale for like $6 or $7.

I don't really blame wegmans. They don't really have "beer guys" on staff. They get all the good stuff because they spend the most money, not for their dedication to craft beer, which is fine. Almost everything they do is mandated by corporate, so I'm sure its a simple thing. If a guy comes in and says I want this case, you sell the case.

I do wish I had some time to go find some KBS today, as my store didn't get any.

At Julio's yesterday one of their beer guys was telling me allotments in MA may be down this year as Founders expands to more markets like KY & AZ. I guess the word out there is those markets are getting larger KBS shipments, I assume to help gain hold in the market, which from a business standpoint makes sense, but as a consumer stinks.

Also - apparently Boston-proper gets their shipments first, which makes sense as you see places like Rapid Liquors get their allotment, and you hear places like Julio's or Wegman's be a few days behind.

    Best of luck to everyone!

That's the same way it was last year. It's a bit ironic that allotments here are doled out based on a store's sales of other Founders products while they send larger allotments to stores in new territories that obviously haven't sold anything. Never really understood the point of sending 1 case or less of a beer to a store

    Gordon's on Facebook:

Rare beer hunters, your moment has arrived. VERY limited quantities left at Main St of KBS (1 per, thanks for asking), Dogfish 120 (2 per), and the new Ommegang Game of Thrones, Fire and Blood.

Yup, everyone's got those moments. My breaking point was last year when you needed to spend X amount to get a raffle ticket to be entered into a drawing just to get 1 KBS! Yeah, no thanks.
