Hmm, now that I'm home I'm looking at the sizes of different mini snifters. It was possibly served in a 6 oz. mini, MAYBE a 10 - 13 oz. snifter. Either way, they were poured about half way. Still tasted great though.

Somehow this flys under the radar. Great event. Thank you.

One Stop in Haverhill got a case this year. 1 bottle limit $12 per. Needless to say I turned down the bottle they were holding for me. I asked them why they were charging twice what some other places were and I was told "We gotta make our money on it" . Maybe if they didn't have so many out of date beer on the shelf they could sell more and not gouge so much. I ended up getting a bottle at another store for $5.99 guess they didn't need to make their money on it.

It's not a bottle, but there's an outside chance Christopher's in Cambridge might still have it on tap. Not exactly the Northshore, but not a hike either. No one seemed to know about it.

As much as I love stopping into the GND for a few good beers and delicious fries I never go into One Stop for this exact reason. Shelves and shelves full of over priced out of date beer.

LOL. I live two minutes from that store and pick things up here and there. But you're correct, overpriced and out of date is their calling card. I'm not surprised at all to hear about $12 KBS bottles

and the service isn't very friendly there. Seems like they're doing YOU a favor buy selling you overpriced beer. I live one mile from there, and I very often find myself traveling to Redstone. Even the Market Basket and Shaw's on 125 has solid beer. Cheaper, too.

We are tapping it at 4:30 on Wednesday at Lord Hobo. The first 20 people will also get to try some 2010 + 2011 Double Oaked Kate the Great.

KBS is NOT on tap yet at Yard House Boston-Fenway. I was just there and asked the bartender if it was on. He said it was, and then returned a moment later saying he had been misinformed. He said it would go on tomorrow or the next day.

The manager in Lynnfield said Boston goes on tap next Tuesday. I just left there. Lynnfield has about 1/2 log left of each 2013 and 2014. Won't make it very long on Wednesday.

Did you have both? Any comparisons?

I had both at the Yard House. After letting them warm up, my impressions were:

'13: Rich chocolate, caramel, mild coconut/bourbon flavor w/ no booze. Smooth!
'14: Marshmallow, toffee, dried fruit, light roast coffee, more pronounced bourbon/alcohol flavor.

I'd highly recommend both, there's no mistaking the two side by side, or one after the other. The '14 has more going on.

I'm going to the Sox game today so selfishly wanted to see it on, but it makes sense for them to tap it on a non - game night. They will be packed with pre-gamers no matter what limited beers are on draft.

Had a pour there after work yesterday. Much more enjoyable than truck chasing all over the state. KBS is excellent, but not even my favorite BBA coffee stout.

I did have both, but not at the same time. I stopped in and had a '14. Left for a previous commitment and went back after for the '13. I didn't really make note of different flavors or smells or anything. I just know they were both damn good, MUCH better than I recall my 2 bottles tasting last year. Luckily, I still have 2 bottles of '13 and I plan on having one probably tomorrow for comparison sake. As for the 2 on tap, I think I preferred the '14.

Crazy! After waiting in line at CBC in Braintree for chance to buy 1 bottle of the six they had, a friend of mine, out of the blue, texted me this Monday. She was at Highland Liquors in Holbrook (Rt 37) and texted me a pic of KBS and Dogfish 120 and asked if I wanted these beers. Of course I said yes! Then said how much? At first she said KBS was $15 (for one) and I said no, but then she said they were $10 each so told her to grab them (paid $6 at CBC for KBS).

Then 15 minutes later she texted me a picture of Maine Brewing's Lunch too. I have only seen that in a store once! Needless to say, I need to check this store out!
