KBS in MA

How were they stocked for KBS? I may be going by there tomorrow and I'm wondering if I should swing by.

 

The stores I've seen post about arrival have also hashtagged #stopcalling. The hype continues to live on

 

They seemed to think the 4 pack I got was the last one, sorry. Worth calling though.

 

Grabbed my yearly 4-pack off the shelf with ease. What does everyone think of this batch? Feels a little thin to me if memory serves correct. Still very tasty. I'm looking forward to doing a small 4 year vertical soon

 

CBC Winchester had bombers & 4-packs for sale this afternoon. I grabbed a 4-pack for $25.50.

They also had CBS (4 bottles when I left at 1pm).

 

In New Jersey I came across four 12 oz. singles on the shelf at my local spot today. No price indicated so I grabbed two. They rang me up and said "$25.38" FOR TWO 12oz BOTTLES. I said that's too steep for me and walked out empty handed. If that were for all 4 I MIGHT have considered it but that was an easy hard-pass for me.

 

Plenty at CBC Belmont, I believe $7.25 for a single or $25 and change for a 4 pack.

 

Strolled into Ball Square Liquors on Saturday and there were about 3 four packs left on the shelf.

Snagged only two bottles, so there might be two in the cooler (where the mix-a-six shelf is) plus the remaining 4 packs on the shelf. They were on the regular shelves outside the cooler.

I think the price was ~$25 per four pack, but I honestly don't remember the price.

 

Agreed, 2 spots within 5 miles of each other near me were selling 12oz bottles @ $10 per and the other had 4 packs for $25.

 

I had a bottle Saturday. It was good, but nothing to write home about. The aftertaste was weird, almost soda like

 

I liked the one I cracked last night. Better mouthfeel and less ABV heat than I remember in past batches.

My take on KBS is that, like its base beer, it’s not a sipper. It’s just about the ideal beer to have out of $7 shaker pint poured at some bar that doesn’t know any better on beer but does know how to make a great burger.

 

I've only had a sip from my roommate's glass (going to likely crack mine this weekend), but it was better than last year. Nice chocolate notes up front, and less heat as you said.
