KBS in MA

I don't think anyone knows for sure. MA gettin' screwed again. Something about BA stouts. At least those fools in the other 49 states don't know what they're missing with BA Framminghammer.

Also, drinking my one KBS right now. It's as good as I remember it, but if I didn't enjoy going for a ride during my lunch break and had to run around town, I would be underwhelmed. This is the hardest I've ever had to try for it in the last three years and if it's this tough next year, I'm done.

Who was chatting with the beer guy at Whole Foods on River Street with me around 12:30-45 today?

 

I bought those last 4 BCBS (I had "just missed" the last KBS). Passed on the Lolita though. FWIW, I think they have 4 BA Framinghammers left for $5.69.

 

Did they still have lunch?

 

As of like 4.30, yeah, but I don't think it's on the floor so I don't know how much they have. The beer manager offered it as consolation.

Funnily enough, Downtown Wine and Spirits in Davis also offered Lunch as consolation.

I'd be interested to see a state by state comparison, but that will never happen. Curiously enough, I'm drinking a BA Framinghammer right now and it's spectacular, actually better than the first bottle I had last week. Getting alot more of those delicious vanilla/caramel/toffee flavors.

This is the first time I've had KBS and unless it's the single best beverage I've ever had by a mile, or I can rather easily get a few bottles or a 4 pack next year, I won't be doing this song a dance again. Somehow I don't see things getting easier

I think it was me at Whole Foods. Solid people in the beer/wine department there. Was this when the lady kinda-sorta asked about buying a case of Delerium Tremens?

 

PS, I just scrolled thru the Vermont thread (comically short compared to ours) and people are literally complaining that their local store only got 4 cases as opposed to 5, or that they could only buy a case. Color me confused Founders, color me confused...

 

At least the "complaining" part seems to be a constant.

 

If anyone has any good leads on when/where this gets tapped anywhere I'd love to know.

 

I'm kind of curious about those of you that were told by a store that they weren't getting any only to find out they sold out to other customers. Were you guys regulars of the store and there was a miscommunication or were you calling/emailing every store within 20 miles to see if they had it?

I feel like I'm going to be biting my tongue during the Founders Breakfast.

I got my one bottle of it in Lenox. I put a reservation in for 'as much as i can get', and ended up with one (manager said they got hammered with requests). My other shop never got their case . I'll do some hunting tonight after work and see if any smaller joints have any.

 

Happen to know the price and bottle limit?

Picked up a case in CT, but not at my normal store where I was limited to 1 bottle (even though I spend a ton of money all year long) instead in a shitty little store with very little craft selection other that the fact they carried the Founders line which I assume probably never sells there based on location and clientele. When I asked how much I could buy he nearly begged me to buy the case at $18.99 / 4Pack.

 

I'm thinking of hitting the Salty Pig for lunch tomorrow. Any word on KBS?

 

You mean brunch? I think that runs till 2ish on weekends.(Could be mistaken) but if this is tapped I'll be walking/running over to get some.

 

Hope this is tapped today while I am working in the next building over. But my best guess would be a brunch tapping tomorrow.

 

Yea would be nice im in the tower right now.

 

It might be that places are getting 4-5 cases because there might not be a lot of places in Vermont that sell Founders. I'm sure there are way more in Mass.
